Clarification re Club/Non Open Events

Club League Races Guidance Now that the club league (formally known as "non-open races") season is underway the following is just a clarification of the rues regarding such events and a reminder of requirements to all league organisers:

Ensure that relevant authorities (councils, Garda, PSNI) are notified of your event(s);
Ensure that the circuit being used is safe and appropriately marshalled;
Events must comply with the following definition:
“A non – open race can be either a club race or a league race.

A Club Race is a race promoted by a CI registered club primarily for members of that club. However the club may allow participation from members of other clubs and non attached members of CI, provided they have the appropriate licence. It will not be mandatory to appoint a commissaire but in all other ways the race will be conducted under the rules of CI.

A League Race is a race open to members of more than one club and non attached members of CI provided they have the appropriate licence. There will be no prize list per race but there may be an overall prize list. The promoter must appoint a competent person to fill the role of commissaire and in all other ways the race will be conducted under the rules of CI”;

Participants must be either:
Cycling Ireland members in possession of a full or club competition licence;
Cycling Ireland non-competition members who take out a €10 one-day licence;
Non-Cycling Ireland members who take out a €20 one-day licence.
Participants taking out one-day licences must be recorded on the A3 one-day licence sheet available from the Cycling Ireland office – sheet(s) must be returned at the end of the league series along with one-day licence fees collected;
All participants must sign-on using the standard Cycling Ireland sign-on sheet available to download by clicking the link below or it can be accessed via the Download section on the left.
