Kinning Cycles Cross League Is a Go

Kinning Cycles CC are all set for the upcoming cyclocross season 2016/17 following on from the huge success of last year's first cross race at Orangefield park. The drop in the daylight into the evening added to the electric atmosphere. This year we will return to Orangefield Park for the season opener of the Kinning Cross League which will be floodlit. It will be the first round in Ulster, but not part of the Ulster cross series. Instead Kinning Cycles will hold their own league with a twist on the General classification, which will be based on time from all 4 rounds.

Riders must compete in all 4 races to qualify for prizes. The races are designed with cross riders in mind and this will reflect on the course design, having as many features and obstacles as possible. Due to this there will me no separate MTB support race or MTB bikes permitted with the exception of under 14's and 16's. There will also be a ladies only race with under 14's and under 16's also getting a chance to race.

Bioracer, elite cycling manufacture' are behind the league and will be providing leaders jerseys and overall winners jerseys for A B and Ladies. Local cycling inspired artist Victory Chimp has designed the jersey. Between the style and design it will be hard fought for. Victory Chimp will also be at each round with a stall to purchase apparel. On top of this Kinning Cycles will have a display of Trek Cyclocross bikes to view.

On Sunday 28th August Kinning Cycles will also run a cyclocross training day in Orangefield. Riders will get to practice the upcoming course, work on skills and try tubular wheels. Riders are asked to register at HERE and note what skills they would like to work on.

The 4 venues will each have their own unique features from floodlights, velodromes, beach sections, large steep banks and new barriers.

Sunday 23rd October - Dundonald International IceBowl
Sunday 1st January - Hazelbank
