Feast of Crits and TT’s During the Week

From hard paced, technically skillful criteriums to man against the clock, those who enjoy this sort of racing have a glut of it this week. There are three crits on with Old Bleach promoting the Antrim crit on Tuesday, Ards CC running Town Centre races on Wednesday and the Bann Wheelers promotion of the Coleraine crit on Thursday. Please Note : Phoenix CC's  Crit in the Part on Friday night is cancelled. For the testers the TVR TT Series continues on Wednesday evening while the Ernie Magwood Series takes place on Thursday and on Sunday Ballymoney run their Father's Day 25 mile TT.  There is also a Hill Climb on for those riders who prefer to race uphill. Tuesday 14th June Antrim Festival Crit
Old Bleach is promoting the Antrim Festival Criterium around the streets of Antrim town centre on Tuesday night. The circuit for the race starts on High Street before turning onto Railway Street, followed by another left onto Castle Way, down to the A6/Antrim Road and in the bus lane back to High Street.

6-30pm – Sign on opens
7-00pm – Youth boys/Junior girls race
7-30pm – A4 race
8-15pm – ‘Elite’ (A1 to A3) race
9-00pm – Podiums

Entry for events will be run through EntryCentral.com and will close on Monday the 13th of June. The sign on area will be located in Market Square – at the back of The Old Courthouse – opening at 6-30pm and closing at 7-30pm.

Wednesday 15th June Ards Town Centre Races
Ards Cycling Club promotes their annual Town Centre races on Wednesday 15th June. Roads around the town centre one way system will be closed from 7.00pm to 10.00pm, with racing starting at 7.00pm sharp. The race programme caters for all ages: novice race, junior races and senior races. Sign on is in Town Hall, Conway Square from 6.00pm with the novice race starting at 7.00pm after the PSNI have closed the roads. Pre-entry is required for the senior Races. Pre entry will close online on Sunday 12th June. A Cycling Ireland Full competition licence is required and will be checked at sign on.Both races will have prizes.

Thursday 16th June Coleraine Crit
Bann Wheelers is promoting a criterium through Coleraine Town Centre on Thursday evening. The race itself will start on Church Street go through The Diamond, Queen Street, Millburn Road, Union Street, Brook Street and back into the town centre along Church Street: Map of Circuit

The pedestrian area will have barriers to keep spectators and riders safe.

There are two races on the evening:
A4 - 30mins plus five laps, start time is 18:30
A2/A3 scratch race - 30mins plus five laps, start time is 19:30

Each race will have a 'Prime' sprint every 5 laps and will be restricted to a maximum of 50 riders for safety reasons.

Registration for both races will be available from 17:15 to 18:30 in Abbey Street Carpark beside Coleraine Baptist Church.  To access the carpark, approach Coleraine via Lodge Road, Nursery Avenue, Terrace Row and Bannfield Place, keeping to the right hand lane passing Tesco on the left and Dominos Pizza on the right follow the 'P' sign straight ahead to the carpark. The event is being sponsored by Trust Ford (Coleraine), Macaulay Wray Solicitors and Gibson Financial Planning Ltd.

Friday 17th June Crit in the Park - Cancelled
Due to surface dressing works in the park recently, Phoenix CC feel that this has left the circuit unsafe for bike racing and so, regrettably, the club feel it's in the best interest of the riders and the club to cancel this year's Crit.

Phoenix CC will endeavour to find a possible replacement for later in the season but, in the meantime, apologies for any inconvenience.

Wednesday 15th June TVR TT Series
On Wednesday night TVR will run  round 3 of their popular TT Series. This will be a ten mile course on the Warrenpoint to Newry Dual Carriageway. Sign-on is at Warrenpoint Harbour Docks area from 6.00pm with the first rider off at 7.00pm. A Limited Competition licence is the minimum required and will be checked at sign-on. All bikes must be fitted with a working rear red light.

Thursday 16th June Ernie Magwood Super Six TT League Round 3 Woodgreen
Rd 3 of the 2016 Hayes Fuels Ernie Magwood Super 6 league takes place at Woodgreen on Thursday 16th June.
Sign on is from 18:30 first rider off at 19:30. Pre entry is compulsory for riders wishing to be included in the league's results. Riders will require a minimum of a limited competition licence, and also a rear light. (Front light also advisable)
All other TT rules apply. No warming up on course after 10am, no passing timekeeper, no drafting or white lining. Please treat all riders, officials and volunteers with respect if you wish to return.

Sunday 19th June Father's Day 25m TT Woodgreen
On Sunday Ballymoney CC roote theeir Father's Day TT in the Woodgreen circuit. Sign-on form 8.00am with the first rider off at 9.00am. Riders will require a minimum of a limited competition licence, and also a rear light.
