Lakeland CC Promote National Underage Championships

All Ireland Underage Cycling Championships 2003

Lakeland Cycle Club are proud to be promoting this years All Ireland Underage Cycling Championships over the weekend of Saturday 23rd and Sunday 24th August 2003.
This is only the third time that an Ulster Club has undertaken this prestigious event and it promises to be an excellent weekend of underage cycling.
The two-day Championship event will be based over 3 events.
Time Trial – Saturday Morning 10.01am
Criterium - Saturday Afternoon 3.30pm
Road Race- Sunday Morning 10.00am
Championship Sign On will take place on Friday Evening from 7.00pm until 10.00pm and on Saturday Morning from 9.00am until 10.00am. A gear and safety check will be carried out before a rider will be allowed to sign-on. This will take place at St Angelo Airfield.

Time Trial The event will be run over a 1.5 miles. (2.5km) course on the Airfield with the first under 11
Rider starting at 10.01am the U12, U13, U14, U15 & U16. will follow in this order. Map enclosed of
course.

1. Criterium Race The event will be run over a 1.65ml (2.6km) course also on the Airfield. Sign-on for the event will take place between 2.45pm & 4.00pm. Racing will commence at 3.30pm with the U11 (3 laps) followed by U12 (3 laps), U13 (7 laps), U14 (7 laps), U15 (11 laps) & U16 (11 laps).

Road Race The event will be run over a 5.9ml (9.4km) circuit with sign-on and start at Letterbreen Church Hall. Sign-on for the event will take place between 9.00am & 10.00am. Racing will commence at 10.00am with the U11 (1 lap), followed by U 12, (1 lap), U13, (2 laps), U14, (2 laps), U15, (5 laps), & U16 (5 laps). See map of course.

Points. Will be awarded for each event as follows. 1st 100 points - 2nd 97 3rd 95 4th 93 5th 92 6th 91etc

CHAMPIONSHIP MEDALS. Will be awarded for the 1st 3 riders in each age group and further prizes will be awarded down to 8th place in each age group, also unplaced girl in each age group.

CHAMPIONSHIP TEAM MEDALS Will be awarded to the team of 3 riders with the highest points score following the final event. Subject to General Reg 4
