Cycling Ireland and British Cycling Joint Press Statement

1 British Cycling and Cycling Ireland representatives met on 3rd April and as instructed by the UCI agreed to create a joint standing committee in order to fix and implement the terms of their co-operation and to permanently promote a relation of good neighbourliness.

2 It was agreed to co-operate on a range of initiatives including a joint racing calendar and joint development initiatives, particularly in respect of Northern Ireland.

3 It was further agreed to continue dialogue/discussion to cover further matters.

4 In the meantime Cycling Ireland and British Cycling agreed that co-operation should continue between Cycling Ulster and the Northern Ireland Cycling Federation at a local level and each of these Bodies should liaise fully with the other to ensure that co-operation continues in a harmonious manner.
