Bann Wheelers Trailquest Round 2

Bann Wheelers are hosting Round 2 of their Winter Trailquest Series from The 3 Oaks Bar & Restaurant in Aghadowey, on Sunday 8th November.

Trailquests or Mountain Bike Orienteering is for anyone who loves being outdoors, likes a challenge, enjoys riding new areas and wants friendly low key events. You can take part if you have a bicycle, a helmet, and a team mate!

Teams take part in the same event and course, each rides to their own chosen limit. You can stop and enjoy the views or ride your legs off, you choose.… Read more

Bann Wheelers Trailquest Series Now Open For Entries

Bann Wheelers are hosting Round 1 of their Winter Trailquest Series from Hecklers Bar, Ringsend, on Sunday 18th October. Three separate events are planned before Christmas.
Teams (of pairs) can be male, female or mixed.

Start will be open between 09:30 - 10:30, with each team given 3 hours to gain as many points as possible. Read more

Events this Coming Weekend

There are lots of event on this coming weekend with the Giant's Causeway Sportive on Saturday and some leisure events around the province on Sunday. The Errigal Harvest Tour has been rescheduled for the following Sunday 20th September and the Hills above Drumquin event down for Sunday will now take place in October.

A wet day at Colebrooke for the Ulster XC MTB Championships

On Sunday 23 August 2015 we woke up to heavy rain which had started in the middle of the night and had not let up. Riders still came from near and far to Colebrooke Estate in County Fermanagh for the Ulster Cross-county mountain bike championships. Host club Lakeland CC had spent a lot of time preparing the course in advance of race day and were busy on the morning checking and re-routing sections which had turned from dry, fast sections to wet, muddy bogs. A stream, which was only an inch or two deep on the Saturday was over knee deep on Sunday.… Read more

Jacob Dickson – Downhill Junior – on the world stage

Dromore rider Jacob Dickson placed 2nd Junior at the last downhill World Cup event at Val di Sloe in Italy at the weekend 22/23 August 2015. This was the 7th and final event of the 2015 World Cup Downhill Series which left Jacob as 3rd overall in the junior men.… Read more

CU off-road team finish off the British NPS series

The last race in the British NPS series was held on Sunday 16 August in Cannock Chase just outside Stafford. Cycling Ulster junior riders James Curry and Sean Bradley took to the start line. Inter-regional MTB championships – team selected

Team Selection has now taken place for the 2015 Inter-Regional Mountain Bike Competitions which are due to take place on 18-20 September at Hadleigh Farm in Essex. The riders were selected based on two factors, their bike skills and their results in cross-country races. Twelve riders had put their name forward, with eleven able to take part in the bike skills trials. It was a great spectacle to see how well these U14 and U16 riders performed the cycling challenges.… Read more

Ulster MTB XC Championships – Sunday 23 August – Colebrooke Estate

The 2015 Ulster Cross-country Mountain Bike Championships will take place at Colebrooke Estate in County Fermanagh on Sunday 23 August. Host club Lakeland CC held an event here at the start of the year and Caldwell Cycles also had their round of the Ulster XC Series here in April. Off-road commissaires course – 29 & 30 August 2015

In order to run off-road events we need to have trained commissaires to ensure that rules and regulations are adhered to.
