Aiken and Garrett Take Wins at Annaclone
Ulster's road racing season got off to a fine start today with Banbridge CC's promotion of the Travers Engineering Annaclone GP. The race which took place over an eight mile rolling circuit is tougher than it seems and after a few laps the rises can take their toll. There was also extremely cold conditions and a biting wind.
The full field for the combined A1-A3 race included some big hitters such as Roger Aiken of Wheelworx-Asea, Daniel Stewart of An Post Chain Reaction and Craig Rea of Phoenix CC.… Read more

Spires GP Goes Live for Entry Thursday 18th
Spires GP will go live tonight the 18th of Feb at 8,00 pm on Entry Central. This popular event takes place around Ballyronan in Co Derry. The races will be held on Saturday 5th March and will feature a combined race for A1/A2/A3 as well a separate race for A4's. Sign-on will be from 10.00am at Ballyronan Marina. These races will fill up very quickly so be ready to go online ths evening (Thursday 18th) to enter this event. Go to Entry Central to enter.

Host Club Needed for the 2016 National Championships
Cycling Ireland has announced that the National Road and TT Championships due to be held in Clonmel from 23-26th June this year will now not go ahead at this location. Clonmel have had to pull out from the promotion of the Championships due to a funding issue.
Cycling Ireland has now opened the opportunity to host the Championship to all provinces and would be interested in hearing from any club that would consider taking on this prestigious event.
Omagh Wheelers hosted the event very professionally in 2015.

Tour of the North Opens Tonight – Download forms
The prestigious Tour of the North will be based in the Ards and North down area for 2016. The four day International will take place over the Easter weekend (25th - 28th March) and competitors will race five stages over 260 miles. The event will include a circuit race, time trial and three road races. The Race Headquarters will be in the recently reopened Portaferry Hotel.
This event always attacts competitors from Britain and Europe as well as from around Ireland. Limited to one hundred riders the race places will fill very quickly.… Read more

Great Turn-out at West Down Wheelers Charity Cycle
News of the famous West Down Wheelers hospitality has obviously spread as over three hundred riders turned out today for the Wheelers Charity Cycles, The Tour of Down. The main event took in many of the hills around Rostrevor, Hilltown, Castlewellan and Katesbridge but this did not put anyone off tackling the event. There was also a shorter, easier route through Bryansford.
As usual West Down Wheelers did not stint on ensuring the safety aspects of the event and had plenty of backup for those with mishaps.… Read more
Off Road Spring Series Kicks off Sunday 28th February
The XMTB McConvey Cycles Spring Series returns to Ormeau Park on Sunday 28th February, to open the cross country racing season. The Spring Series is suitable for both children and adults and the club welcomes new riders wishing to try cross country racing, to the event.
Racing starts from 10.30am for the children and from 1.00pm for the Adults. Toilets, Showers and Changing Rooms available in the Ozone Complex. Each rider will be entered into a price draw. One ticket will be allocated per round entered.… Read more
Tour Of Ards 2016 Now Open for Entry
This year's Tour Of Ards will take place on Saturday 12th March. The route is the same as last year, starting down the Portaferry Road before taking Mountstewart Road over to Ballywalter, and taking in two laps of a circuit Kircubbin – Portaferry – Portavogie in an anti-clockwise direction. Then the classic run up the Strangford Lough coast road to finish outside Londonderry Park. Total distance is just over 100km.
