Report From Tir Chonaill Gap’s Harvest Tour

The weather was on our side last Sunday as we set out on the annual Harvest Fair Cycle. With 120 cyclists taking part on the 3 routes it was a great turn out and brilliant to see so many younger riders out on the road.

A few special mentions have to go to some of our own members, James Eddie who completed the 30k in great form after only taking up cycling a short time ago. Also Clodagh Duggan was flying on the 30k and was one of the first ladies back in! Keep up the good work!!

We also have to mention Kieran Cunnea who has been looking forward to getting back into his home ground in Glencolmcille but unfortunately forgot where to turn off to get ‘in-through’ so alas the Glen supporters that were out waiting with hats, flags and headbands will have to wait a little while longer before the “Glen Hero” makes his triumphant return!!!

We would like to extend our thanks to all the clubs that join us on our run it was a great day to get mixing with all the other clubs and hopefully we’ll all do it again soon on another spin!

Finally we would like to say a special thanks to the lads from LK Bikes and Ballybofey Cycles who gave of their time and Vans to sweep on the 120k and the 60k spins. THANKS LADS!

We hope everyone enjoyed the day and hope to see you all back next year when we’ll do it all again!! :-)
