Date: Sunday 15 May 2011
Event: Ulster XC Series Round 2, Irish NPS Series Round 4
Venue: Tollymore Forest Park
Host club: Banbridge CC

Course Description:
Tollymore was the venue for the 2010 Ulster Championships and anyone who was there will remember the Big Dipper which was very popular with both riders and spectators.
For 2011 we have made some changes/improvements which we hope will add to an already interesting lap. The course starts and finishes in the large grass event field which is often used for scout camps etc. This field is also the carpark and camping will be available at a small charge to the Forestry Service. The toilets & showers are only a 5 minute walk away.

The course comprises two loops either side of the river with two way traffic over the Ivy Bridge. On each side there is a fire road climb but not long or steep. Most of this course is in the forest. There is a wide mix of fast flowing tracks, technical single track climb, several drops with tricky turns and exits, stream splashes followed by steep climbs, a very tricky section over an old stone well and not forgetting the Big Dipper. A lot of man hours have been spent on this course which we are very happy with. Tollymore is a fantastic place and with the large event field for race and carpark this makes an excellent MTB venue.
