Junior Tour Friday

Proving that he never gives up, newcomer Marcus Christie, riding as a lone entrant for his Dublin based Usher-Irish Road Club, bounced back from his 4 crashes on Thursday to finish runner up on todays 113km tage to Ballina. He and Ireland team member Charles Perndergast, also a faller on Thursday, finished almost two minutes ahead of the chasing group, with Christie`s inexperience no doubt robbing him of the stage win.
With a 3rd, 2nd and 15th on stages Christie lies 6th in the points competition with the one bad day robbing him of a higher placing.
Lakelands Dane Dunlop took 11th on the stage, with Stuart Henry also in the top 20.
Today (Saturday) sees the penultimate stage of 65 miles including the Windy Gap climb.
