Fyffe was the Man on Form At East Tyrone GP

afAngus Fyffe of Omagh Wheelers continued his string of fine performance this year by taking the East Tyrone GP in style. Fyffe who has ridden with pro-continental outfit the An Post Sean Kelly team stamped his mark on the race early on. The tough six lap race for was run off in glorious sunshine.  Darnel Moore of Caldwell Cycles took second place with Alan Bingham of Cuchullain CC in third.  East Tyrone Junior, Harvey Barnes, was given special permission to ride this A event and he showed what he was made of by taking fourth place.

In the A3 race juniors were again to the fore with Breandan Flanaghan of Powerhouse Sport taking the victory with team mate Adam Ward taking third. Second place went to John Morton of Harps CC.

It was a One Two for Newry Wheelers n the A4 race which was won by Gareth O'Neill with his Newry Wheelers team-mate, Michael Fox taking second. Philip Doyle of Killinchy CC was third over the line with Brendan Doherty of Saddle Rock CC in fourth.

James McConnell (Ballymena RC) took the Master's race followed by another rider making a comeback namely Tommy Wilson of Ballymena. James McCusker of Orchard Wheelers was third.

Claire McIlwaine of Phoenix CC took a fine win in the women's race followed in by Laura Blair (Ballymena RC) and Jane Wilkinson of Bann Wheelers.

Not content with running five races for Seniors this hard-working club also promoted youth racing in the morning. Odhran Doogan of  Powerhouse Sport took the win in the U14 event from Adam McKeever of AAA and Sorly Owens Fisher of Omagh Wheelers.

First girl was home rider Ellie Kelso with Maria McAllister in second place.

In the U16 race victory went to Daniel Graham of North Down CC wth Tiernan Convery (Termoneeny CC) in second and James Glasgow of East Tyrone CC in third.

East Tyrone put on a fabulous array of refreshments both before and after the race as well as a bouncy castle and tuck shop for the kids so many thanks to them. Thanks to all the car drivers, marshalls and officials. Thanks also to the comms on the day.
