Ulster Cyclocross Championships Sun 18th December

On Sunday 18th December, Kinning Cycles will be hosting the Ulster Cyclocross Championships. This prestigious event will take place in the new venue of Belfast Playing Fields. Mallusk, with the help and support of Belfast City Council. It looks set to be a fast course with a number of steps, some steep banks, off-camber sections and a sand pit. Sign-on opens at 9:30 with the course open for practice shortly after that. There will be 3 races on the day with Juniors, Women, Under 14s and Under 16s kicking off the action at 10:45, M40 and M50 men at 12:15 and Senior men at 14:00.

Note that CX bikes must be used for all races except for the U14 and U16 races where mountain bikes may be used. The races are open to all license holders, not just those from Ulster, but to qualify for a championship medal a rider must belong to a club based in Ulster, be unattached but currently resident in Ulster, or have been born in Ulster.

The event is pre-entry ONLY. There will be no entries allowed on the day. Registration opens at 20:00 on the 7th December and closes at 20:00 on the 16th. For more details and links to registration please see the UlsterCycloCross site HERE. Or the Kinning Cross League Facebook page HERE.

In addition to the racing, Urban Excel Ltd will be running their "BMX essential skills circuit" suitable for 7 years upwards and adults welcome. They will bring the bikes and helmets. So for those that can't race, no excuse not to come along and watch. Further details on their Facebook page HERE.
