Great Day at Final Round of Omagh Youth Programme

3The Hugh Mc Cann Development League final round and  Capital Reinforcement time trial league Award Presentations were held at the weekend in Omagh. Omagh Wheelers have been running youth programmes for a number of years and the number of youth involved has continued to grow. This year they added youth specific time trials to their programme as well as youth racing.

There was a terrific turnout of parents and supporters and the key message was encouragement and praise for all participants. This was also reflected in the awards where all the youth riders were rewarded for their efforts. Older youth riders were actively involved in helping younger riders so that everyone felt involved.

The day included the final races and time trials s well as as a barbecue for all. In the usual Omagh Wheelers' hospitality there was lots of food to go around.

The over-riding emphasis of the day was on FUN. Well done to Omagh Wheelers on such a great initiative. Dany Blondeel of the Belgian Project was one of the prize  presenters and this was more than deserved as Dany and his media team have done sterling work in promoting youth events.

Ulster Cycling news would also  like to congratulate Sean Kelly in his new role as Chairman of Omagh Wheelers and wish out-going chairman, Stevie McKenna all the best.
