Gold and Silver for Ulster at International Track

aSundrive track in Dublin played host to an International Track meeting over the weekend and Irish riders were to the fore in all competitions. For Ulster it was the achievements of Ballymena's Eileen Burns and Omagh's Mark Potts which took centre stage.

Eileen Burns took Gold in the Women's Individual Pursuit with a time of 3:57:947 for the 3k. This was almost six seconds faster than runner-up Annasley Park of Great Britain. In itself this was some accomplishment but considering it was Eileen's first time on the track and the first time to use the starting gate it makes her success so much more remarkable.
