Tommy Givan/Ulster 50 Mile Time Trial Championship – Sunday 3rd July 2016
The Tommy Givan 50 Mile Time Trial which incorporated the Ulster 50 mile TT Championship will be run on the Woodgreen course next Sunday 3rd July. The event will cover 3.5 laps of the course. Sign on is at the lay-by adjacent to Tannaghmore Service station on the A26 dual carriageway between Antrim to Ballymena. Sign-on opens at 8.00 and closes at 8.45 am. with the first rider off at 9.00am
There is no pre-entry for this event and riders can enter on the day of the event. The entry fee is £7
The winner will receive the Tommy Givan Memorial 50 mile TT cup and prizes will be awarded for the first 4 riders.
Ulster Championship medals will be awarded for the various categories.
Prizes will be awarded after the race at the race assembly area adjacent to Tannaghmore Service station.
Rules for the Ulster Championship
Ulster 50 Mile Time trial Championship Eligibility Criteria.
The Ulster 50 mile Time Trial Championship is open to riders of all Senior categories (i.e. no Youth or Juniors) holding a Cycling Ireland LC or Full Licence.
Competitors must satisfy one of the following Cycling Ireland Criteria for Provincial Championships.
- Licence holders satisfying one of the following criteria may compete in the Provincial Championships notwithstanding, a rider may only compete in one set of Provincial Championships in any one season.
(a) Belonging to a club / team based in the Province;
(b) Unattached and resident in the Province;
(c) Residency in the Province;
(d) Belonging to a club / team based outside Ireland but,
1) Immediate past address was in the Province or
2) Most previous Irish club / team was based in the Province.
Categories catered for –
Senior. Men & Women
M40. Men.
M50. Men.
M60. Men.
Team.

Medals.
ALL categories will be subject to the Cycling Ireland Tech regulation in relation to medals presented –
6 or more riders/teams entered. Gold, Silver, bronze.
4 or 5 riders/teams entered. Gold & Silver medals only
3 or less riders/teams entered. Gold medal only.
However, should only 1 or 2 entries be received for any category, there will be no Gold medal awarded, and the rider(s) will be allocated to the next youngest category catered for in the event.
Individual medals. The three fastest riders on the day (irrespective of age category or gender) will be awarded Gold, Silver & Bronze medals.
Each rider M40 and above will also qualify for the age category medal as shown on their licence.
Team Medals.
The team category is open to clubs/teams registered in Ulster. The medals will be awarded to the riders with the fastest aggregate time for 3 members of said club/team.
