Evans Back on Form and Sherlock Wins Noel Teggart
The Noel Teggart Memorial promoted by Banbridge CC 2016 took place today in very wet conditions but that did not stop the riders giving it their all from the start. Banbridge CC promoted a full programme of events for Youth riders prior to the senior races. First off were the Uder 12's and on this occasion it was Shea O'Kane form Phoenix CC to had the legs to take the win ahead of Adam Rafferty of Island Wheelers. Maria McAllister of Island Wheelers was third overall and first girl with Scott Roberts f Xmtb McConvey Cycles third in the boys competition.
Next up were the under 14;s and this event was won comfortably by Odhran Doogan of Errigal CC ahead of Darren Raffferty (Island Wheelers) and Chris Donald (Team Madigan). Ellie Kelso of East Tyrone was first girl.
In the U16 event it was Errigal's PJ Doogan who took the win from the chasers. Craig Mccarthy (Xmtb McConvey Cycles) was second with Liam Hanley (Lucan) taking third. First Girl was Edi Haley (Bendigo District)
Tim Beattie of TVR stepped up the mark in the A4 event creating a space between himself and the chasing peloton to take a solo victory. He was followed in by Ian Weir of West Down Wheelers and Alan Walker of Square Wheels
In the A3 race it was come-back king Tommy Evans of the home club who showed he still has what it takes to win a tough race.Second place went to junior rider Harvey Barnes of East Tyrone CC while John Buller of Banbridge CC was hird. This race was over 100km so there were points for the first ten riders.
In the main race it was Ryan Sherlock (U/A) who took the win ahead of Aaron Swann of Ballymoney CC and Des Woods of Newry.
Once again Banbridge promoted a great day's racing for all categories. Many thanks to all concerned who made it happen despite the horrendous weather conditions.
