Kinnings Hill Climb, Crit in the Park and Lurgan Criterium Open for Entry

There are three events now open for pre-entry. These are the Kinning Cycles Crighton’s Green Hill Climb, Phoenix CC's Crit in the Park  and the Clann Eireann promoted Lurgan Crit. Details of these events and how to enter are listed below.

Creighton’s Green Hill Climb 16/06/2016
Kinning Cycles will host an open hill climb as part of their Interclub league on Thursday 16th June. The event will take place at Creightons Green, Hollywood. The climb is not to severe so it will suit a lot of newcomers and Kinning Cycles issue a warm welcome to first timers. The climb has several “Strava” segments so riders will be going flat out to beat personal records and trying to claim some King of the Mountains points.

There will be prizes for women and youth cyclists as well.

Sign-on is from 6.00pm - 6.50pm (no exceptions). The first rider will be set off at 7.00pm

Crit in the Park Friday 17th June 2016

On the evening of Friday17th June, Phoenix CC will be hosting the ever popular ‘CRIT IN THE PARK’ in Ormeau Park, Belfast
The programme on the night will include:-

  • Youth Racing for: U10, U12, U14, U16
  • Seniors races for:
    • Women
    • A4 & Phoenix club riders
    • A3

Senior races will be 35 mins; 40 mins & 45mins  respectively and will be limited to 35 riders/raceThis is a very safe, traffic free environment for young riders. This style of racing is great for both competitors and spectators alike, so either way come along and help make it a fabulous night for all!!Please Note – A Cycling Ireland race licence will be required to be able to take part.

Sign-on will open at 5.15 on the night and timetable will be approximately:-

  • Youth racing: 5.45 – 6.45
  • Womens race: 6.50 - 7.20
  • A4 / Phoenix club riders: 7.30 - 8.05
  • A3: 8.10 - 8.50
  • Youth racing: £2 - sign-on on the night
  • Senior racing: £6 - entry via Entry Central

Registration is open from Wednesday 15th June

Lurgan Criterium Friday 24/06/16

The Lurgan Criterium Cycle Race promoted by Clann Eireann Cycling Club will take place on Friday 24th June and is now open for pre-entry. Clann Eireann will promote racing for all Youth categories including Beginner Youth as well as an A4 only event.

Sign on opens at 6:00pm at Lurgan Town Hall, Union st Lurgan ( just 100 yards off the rear of the circuit). Start/finish is on Kitchen Hill, Lurgan. BT66 6AZ. (opposite Tesco’s) Toilets and changing facilities available at the Town Hall.

Ample free car parking available around the start/finish area.

Race schedule: TBC
6.40pm – Novices (2 laps – pace controlled for first lap to ensure that group stays together)
6.50pm U-12 (5 laps)
7.05pm U-14 (12 mins + 1 lap)
7.20pm U-16 (15mins + 1 lap)
7.40pm A4 (45mins + 5 laps) - MAX 40 RIDERS
8.45pm A4 presentations

Entry fees:
A4 - £12 pre-entry via clubs website (www.clanncc.net)
Youth categories - £3 on the night (no pre-entry)

Race notes:
(1) Lap out for mechanical reasons during A4 races except in lap countdown period;
(2) Youth presentations to be done immediately following each race;
(3) Prizes – A4 – 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th; the club may at its discretion and subject to sponsorship include one or more primes during A4 race (confirmed on the line on the night)
(4)  A4 race to include women/juniors with first over the line prize in these categories if more than three riders in each category in respective races;
(5) Prizes – Youth categories – Trophies 1st, 2nd, 3rd (Novice, U12, U14, U16)
(6) Gear checks for Youth categories on the night – it is the responsibility of youth riders (and their parents/guardians) to ensure that under/over geared bikes are corrected prior to starting each event
