Curry Is 2016 Winner of Rás Dhun na nGall

Banbridge Mountain biker, James Curry of Sierra Nevada ais the winner of the 2016 Rá Dhun na nGall. James donned the Yellow Jersey yesterday taking it from Adam Stenson of Clebridge and today he showed that he had very intention of keeping it. With a number of KoH climbs Curry proved that he can climb as was always up with the first riders over the climbs.

At one point a break developed which included Eoghan McArdle Ruane (Galway Bay CC), Dominic McCartan (Apollo CT), Brian Geary (Scott Orwell), Aaron Kearney and Sean McFadden (Errigal CC)JB Murphy (Murphy Surveyors), Cameron McIntyre (Sierra Nevada), Mark Buchanan (Caldwell Cycles), and Conor Devlin (Belgium Project). This group held off the chasers for some miles but they were being chased down hard by the The Yellow Jersey group.

James Curry of Sierra Nevada in Yellow was always in the front with other riders such as  Matt Adair of Banbridge and Calvin Moore of Cycling Ulster and it was not long before they closed the  deficit.

Coming to th eclimb of Glengesh the bunch was well split and once again Curry was to thefront and he drowe it all the way up the mountain to claim the Stage victory, the best U23 Jersey and the overall title as well.

The Cycling Ulster team was the top team while Calvin Moore was oused from the KoH position by Aaron Kearney (Errial CC)
