Great Turn-out at West Down Wheelers Charity Cycle

aNews of the famous West Down Wheelers hospitality has obviously spread as over three hundred riders turned out today for the Wheelers Charity Cycles, The Tour of Down. The main event took in many of the hills around Rostrevor, Hilltown, Castlewellan and Katesbridge but this did not put anyone off tackling the event. There was also a shorter, easier route through Bryansford.

As usual West Down Wheelers did not stint on ensuring the safety aspects of the event and had plenty of backup for those with mishaps.

Back at the hall the array of soup, sandwiches and sweet stuff was reward enough for a tough day on the bike.

Money raised by the event will go to a number of local charities among which is the Children's Heartbeat Trust at the Royal Belfast Hospital for Sick Children.

West Down Wheelers would like to thank all those cyclists who turned up today to support the event.

Many thanks to the Belgian Project for the photos. More pics can be viewed HERE.
