Ulster Youth Track Squad to compete in Sainsbury`s School Games
An 8-rider Ulster Youth Track squad will head off this weekend to the hallowed Boards of the Manchester Velodrome to take part in the 2015 Sainsbury`s School Games.
The 3-day multi-sport event will bring together young athletes from across the UK to compete for their regional team in a number of sports.
The Track Programme - which is entirely team-focused, will involve a number of disciplines across the weekend, with the Ulster squad boasting a number of National Champions and medalists in the line-up.
The Team will be managed by Nicola McKiverigan and Gary McKeegan and comprises Harvey Barnes (East Tyrone CC), Xeno Young (Powerhouse Sport), Niall Lawrence (Bann Valley CC), Conor Halvey (Errigal CC), Molly McLarnon (North Down CC), Amanda Gallagher (Caldwell Omagh), Shauna McFadden (Errigal CC) and Katie Armstrong (North Down CC).
The team will have their work cut out, and will be up against the top young track riders in Britain, some of whom are on the British Cycling Talent Squads being groomed for the Tokyo Olympics in 2018.
