Billy Stewart Cup – 9 August 2015

Apollo Cycling Club will be running their annual Billy Stewart event on the Sunday 9th August 2015. Known locally as a sprinter's paradise with it being practically pan flat making it difficult for a break to get away it always draws the fastest A2/3 and 4's in the country.

Details as follows.
Sign On at Good Year Club : Silverwood Industrial Estate, Lurgan, Craigavon, County Armagh BT66 6LN

Sign On is open from 10.30am - 12am.

Neutralised roll out / cars & riders to be ready at 12.15 outside Good Year club - roll out through Derrymacesh to the race circuit - race will start at the start / finish line at the Charlestown Road link to start / finish line

A2/A3 will be a scratch race with A3 race to start at 12.30 with handicap delay to the A2s then 5 minute delay to the A4 race and a further 5 minute delay to the vets/ladies race.

Distances of circuits are as follows
A2/A3 8 laps - 56 miles / 90km*
A4 5 laps - 35 miles / 56km*
Vets [over 50s] / Women 3 laps 21miles / 33km*

*with a 2 mile run up to the finish [ slight drag ]

Tea coffee after with presentation in the Good Year Club

£12 entry fee with Cycling Ireland Licence

Disqualification : Note : tight circuit with no white lines on the back roads - riders who ride on the right hand side of the road, endangering other riders, car users, public or themselves will be removed from the race or DQ'd after the race. Where the peleton races in a dangerous manner the Commissaires and / or the organisers will reserve the right to neutralise or stop the race.

Riders are asked to respect the local area and especially to refrain from a 'natural break' in view of houses or public. Toilets available at the sign on area.
