Universal Graphics County Monaghan Road Race Championships
This Friday evening 24th July Emyvale Cycling Club host the county championships kindly sponsored by Universal Graphics. The circuit will be based in the North Monaghan village of Glaslough with sign on and registration in the Oakland Recreation centre in the village. The circuit is a 9km loop doing 8 laps. Racing begins with the youth at 6.30pm and seniors start at 7pm. It will be a handicap race. Races should be concluded by 9pm with prize presentation in the Oakland Centre after. The race is open to anyone with a Cycling Ireland Competition licence and anyone who was born, is resident or working in County Monaghan.

Tour of Monaghan
The annual Tour of Monaghan sportive takes place this Sunday 26th July. There are two routes available to choose from. One is 85kms and the other is a challenging 150kms. There will be food stops and sweeper vehicles on route to assist cyclists. Sign on and start is in Emyvale from 8am with a 9am departure. This always attracts a good crowd and we are expecting good support from neighbouring clubs. The route covers much of the county north to south and in between so again we appeal to motorists to be attentive and respectful when meeting cyclists on the road.
