Banbridge Cycling Club is hosting a crit on Friday night as well as road races on Sunday. East Tyrone Cycling Club is hosting an Open 10 mile Time Trial on the Sunday. Details below.

Banbridge Crit - Friday 24 July 2015
Full details of main event and support races
As part of the SEAT Super 7 series race in Banbridge on Friday 24th July, Banbridge CC will host support races for the ever popular over 50’s and Women’s categories along with a ‘non-open’ race aimed to cater for club level racers. The addition of the non-open race is hoped to attract the local competitive club racers giving plenty of local interest and an opportunity to race on the fast town centre circuit ahead of the main event.

The non-open will be the first race of the evening starting at 18:45. Sign-on will open from 18:00 and close sharp at 18:30 . This race will last 30 minutes with a prime lap at the halfway mark. Prizes will be awarded to the top 6 riders as well as first unplaced Banbridge CC rider.

The Over 50’s and Women’s race will commence at 19:20, also lasting for 30 minutes with a prime lap at the halfway mark. A separate prize fund has been allocated to the both the Over 50’s and Women categories. Sign on for this race will open from 18:00 and close at 19:00. Entry for both the non-open and Over 50’s/Women’s race will be accepted on the night at a cost of £12.

The main race of the evening will start at 20:15 sharp lasting for 1 hour with prime laps at 15, 30 & 45 minutes. Prizes will be awarded on the night to the top 6 riders as well as first unplaced A2, A3 and Junior riders. This event is pre-entry via Entry Central, with places reserved for the top 10 riders in the league standings. Entries will be accepted on the night for any remaining places at a cost of £15.

Boasting on overall prize pot of £1000 for the Criterium races Banbridge CC hope to see the event elevated to a new level this year in terms of competition and local interest with the generous support of Agnew SEAT, Chain Reaction Cycles and Joe McAleenan’s Hardware Store.

Noel Teggart Memorial Road Race - Sunday 26 July 2015

For 2015 Banbridge CC are delighted to announce the additional sponsorship of the Noel Teggart Memorial races on Sunday 26th July from Eagle Overseas. In addition to the already generous sponsorship from O’Hagan’s Tyres Lawerencetown / Continental this allows the club to offer a prize fun in excess of £1,500 for the races with the main event attracting prizes for the top 10 riders including an attractive first prize of £300.

A full range of youth races will be hosted from Under 12’s through to Under 16’s which will form a round of the Davy McCall Ulster Youth League. Entry for all youth races will be accepted on the day at a cost of £5. Dedicated races for the A3 and A4 races are also on offer, but with places filling fast you’ll need to get your place reserved quickly via Entry Central to guarantee participation. Last year’s winner of the Noel Teggart Memorial Cup Sean McKenna turned out to be the revelation of early 2015 season, and with a winners list that reads like a who’s who of Irish Cycling the competition in the A1 /A2 event is as likely to be hotly contested as ever.

Sign-on for all races will open from 10:00am – 11:30 at Banbridge Hockey club in Huntly Park, Banbridge. All races will depart from Huntly park from 12:00 noon.

Banbridge CC would like to express their thanks to Eagle Overseas for their sponsorship as well as O’Hagan’s Tyres in Lawrencetown for their continued support.

Race Organiser Aaron Wallace can be contacted via aarwallace@gmail.com for further details.
