Attention All Ulster Juniors – Training Weekend Donegal

aaTommy Lamb, who has been acting as head of the Road Commission is pleased to announce that Jason McHugh of Four Masters has come forward and is interested in taking the lead role in the Road Commission. He said, "I am delighted that Jason has taken on this role. Jason is a well known cyclist with many podium positions to his name., He has  been instrumental in recent years in working with the Donegal Development Squad and is used to working with young riders."

Jason has already been working behind the scenes and has planned a Junior Training and Teambuilding Camp which will take place over the weekend of the 10th - 12th April. The camp will be based at Gartan Outdoor Education and Training Centre at Church Hill in Donegal. Jason will be leading the camp in Donegal. The camp will help identify potential riders to represent Cycling Ulster at Rás Dhun na nGall in June. This is relatively free weekend in Ulster as there is only one race over that weekend.

Jason is looking forward to meeting with the Juniors and having the opportunity to help progress their training. He has provided a brief outline of the weekend below.

Friday 10th
Arrive Friday evening the 10th of April.

Saturday 11th April
Breakfast at 8.30am
Bike Ride 10.00am taking in Part of Rás Dhun ma nGall Stage Route (3-4 hours depending on weather)
Lunch followed by a  core session with  Sean McFadden.
Bike maintenance session in the evening and dinner around 8.00pm.

Sunday
Breakfast 8.30am
3 Hour  spin around the scenic Glenveagh and Errigal Mountain.The cost of the weekend for Juniors is £20 and this will cover accommodation, breakfast and evening meal. All juniors interested in selection for Ulster or those who wish to meet other Juniors and exchange ideas should attend this camp.
