Ulster Cyclo-cross series 2014 launches this Sunday

Round 1 of the 2014 Ulster cyclo-cross series begins this weekend at Lurgan Park hosted by Apollo CT. The park has had a long tradition of cross races and is in great condition after the recent dry spell. As well as the cyclo-cross races for men and women there will be the full range of support races for those on mountain bikes for all age groups starting with the Under 6s. This season we have the ChainReaction Cycles Store on board as the overall series sponsor and will be involved in delivering an 'event package' to various rounds. This will mean more bling, raffle prizes, vouchers and freebees as well as a series prize of a Vitus CX bike.

crcaPre-entry has opened for Round 1 and can be found, along with more information about the series on the dedicated website www.ulstercyclocross.com.

Pre-entry closes on Friday 3 October at 8pm. Senior riders who pre-register pay £12, those who don't have to pay £15.

Sign on opens on the day at 9:30. The Under 6s race starts at 10:30 with the Under 8s at 10:40, Under 10s at 10:50, Under 12s at 11:10 and then the Under 14s, 16s, mountain bikers, cyclo-cross B race men and cyclo-cross women's race at 11:45. The cyclo-cross A race will start at 1pm.

Cyclo-cross races are great fun to watch. If you aren't taking part you would be very welcome to come along and spectate.
