2015 Calendar Applications Close on Tuesday

The closing date for the receipt of applications of events for 2015 is Tuesday 30th September. We have been informed that a fine of €200 is applicable for any events entered after that date. If any club is having difficulty accessing or registering their events for 2015 please contact me at marianlamb@ulstercyclingnews.com. Currently there are less than half of the usual events added to the online system.

Please note that when you are entering an event there will be two options at the end of the first page. These are SAVE and NEXT. If you hit SAVE the page will close and some people are finding it difficult to get back in to add further details. If you hit SAVE the event will appear as DRAFT and the calendar co-ordinator will not get the APPROVE buton to approve your event. Make sure you hit NEXT and continue to add the details such as distance, categories, sign-on times and locations and event start time.

Cycling Ulster are also seeking applications for the various Ulster Championships. Clubs may use one of their existing events or propose a stand alone event for 2015. When more than one application is received for an event the final decisoon will be made by the Cycling Ulster Executive. The Championships promoted in Ulster are as follows:

  • Ulster Road Race Champonships for Senior Men, Women, Juniors and Veterans
  • Ulster Cross Country Championships
  • Ulster MTB Championships (various categories)
  • Ulster Youth Championships
  • Ulster 10m Time Trial Championship (one application received so far)
  • Ulster 25Time Trial Championship

The Ulster 50m Time Trial Championship will be promoted by Maryland Wheelers as part of the Tommy Givan Memorial 50. Ballymoney CC will once again host the 100m Time Trial Championship and may use a different course to previous years.

Anthony Mitchell will be the Ulster Calendar co-ordinator for 2015. He can be contacted on sportsprint.mitch@btinternet.com

I will be sending out reminders to club secretaries as well but pass on the information to your club in case someone has been missed out. If anyone requires further information please do not hesitate to contact me on 07920 132135 or via email to  marianlamb@ulstercyclingnews.com.
