McCann Breaks 20 Minute Barrier

Belfast professional David McCann (Team Giant Asia) smashed the 20 minute barrier in tonight's round of the Cycling Ulster – Dave Kane Cycles Time Trial league. On what was considered a slow night McCann recorded a 19-50 for the 10-mile event event at Glenavy. This was over one and a half minutes quicker than second placed Simon Thompson of Maryland Wheelers.
McCann will be remaining home until the All Ireland Road Race Championships at the end of the month at Dundrod so he may well set a new Irish record if he continues to enter the Cycling Ulster league. Next Thursday’s event is scheduled for Woodgreen renowned as the fastest 10 course in the country.
