Downey smashed Junior 10 TT record as Madden equals Vets 10 TT

On what can only be described as a blustery evening few would have expected the times recorded at the Ballymena Road Club Chain Reaction 10 mile TT on the A26 Woodgreen Course on Wednesday 27 August 2014. Marcus Christie, John Madden and Mark Downey arrived ready to take on the current records that stood for the 10 mile TT Irish Record. Subject to ratification the times posted showed that with the South East wind anything was possible.

Mark Downey NRPT set a new time of 19.42 for the Junior record previous being 20.28. John Madden showed he still had some good form by equalling the Vets on 19.40.

Marcus Christie narrowly missed the Senior in a time of 18.37 (record stands at 18.21). Other times recorded on the night was Ballymena club rider Stephen Workman in a time of 20.53.
Aidan Higgins was on hand to oversee the event as was the timekeeping trio of Alan Mark, Billy Jebb and Andrew Wills.

Mark, John and Marcus would like to thank Ballymena Road and their officials in what was a successful night for all.

We wish Mark, John and Marcus more success.
