Madigan Cycles Grand Prix 2nd August - Pre Entry Now Open
Team Madigan Cycling Club, Carrickfergus will promote the 26th Madigan Cycles Grand Prix at Kilroot near Carrickfergus Co. Antrim starting at 11.00am and finishing at around 1.15pm on Saturday 2nd August. Sign-On and Changing / Showers etc. will be in the new Eden Community Centre, Beltoy Road, Kilroot. Note this is on the site of the old Sports Pavilion at Beltoy Road as used for previous Madigan GP events over many years.
Pre-entries for the A and B races are now open. Please click the Entry Central link here!
(Please make sure you give your category and your complete licence number / race number as Chip Timing is being used and this info has to be input into a computer system the day before the race from - Entry Central data)!
Note only the (A) race and (B) race are to use Pre Entry / Entry Central. The Ladies and Over 50 Vets enter on the day at Sign-On and will be given a race number from the promoter!

The 18-mile Kilroot circuit always provides a stiff challenge due to 3 climbs – Bla Hole, Lizard and Seven Sisters, but riders get round it well as most years there is a breakaway group sprinting for the win and the bunch close behind. For the 26th year the race is again kindly sponsored by Mr Ronnie McKeegan of Madigan Cycles / Pro Bike Centre in Carrickfergus and also for the 6th year by Carrickfergus Borough Council meaning a generous prize fund of £600 is up for grabs.

The main (A) race will be 55-miles 3 laps for A+, A1, A2, A3 riders. There will be Cash prizes for the first 6 over the line, plus first unplaced in each category.
The (B) Race for A4 category will be 2 laps = 36-miles with the first 6 riders over the line taking cash prizes.
The Ladies will have their own race and will enter on the day only / not via Entry Central, and again it will be 2 laps = 36-miles. The first 3 over the line win cash prizes.
We also welcome back the Masters category for over 50 vets. Again it is 2 laps = 36 miles and cash prizes for the first 3 riders over the line. Over 50s must also enter on the day at Sign-On!
Sign-On is from 9.15am to 10.45am. Light refreshments will be available after the racing in Eden Community Centre, Beltoy Road, Kilroot.
Please note there is no youth racing!

Davy Ross (Team Madigan Secretary).
