East Tyrone Spring Classic Kicks Off Weekend Racing

The East Tyrone Spring Classic at Cookstown kicks off this weekend’s racing. This year the event is sponsored by TJ Hamilton Volkswagen. The short limit handicap race is open to all categories and will cover a distance of 100k. The sign on is at 11 o’clock at the Mid-Ulster Sports centre about a mile out on the Cookstown/Stewartstown Rd, (B520). There is genererous prize money for the first six over the line as well as category prizes.

East Tyrone will also host the second round of the womenscycling.net League which is open to all women riders in Ireland. Both senior races will be neutralised from the race headquarters to the start of the circuit. For further details contact Rod Davidson on 08486765064

Youth competitors will have a separate race in the grounds of Loughry College adjacent to the Sports Arena.. This will a closed road circuit of approx. half a mile. Sign on is a 9.45 with the race due to start at 10.15am.

On Sunday, Castlereagh CC hold the John Moore Memorial at Carryduff. The race begins at 1.00 pm with sign on at 12 noon. The race is open to all categories with the main race being run over a distance of 96k. For further details contact Colin Morrissey 0774 0825703
