Dine or Ride With Sean Kelly This Weekend

Preparations have been made and the finishing touches are being put in place for what will be a gala night for cycling fans in the region. Sean 'king' Kelly is guest star at Emyvale Cycling Club's annual dinner dance this Saturday night in the Four Seasons Hotel Monaghan.

Tickets are still available but are selling fast and anyone who is considering going would need to contact a club member or call into Francie Mc Quaid Tyres Monaghan or George's Cyclo Sport shop in Emyvale. The event is open not only to cyclists but anyone who wishes to avail of a very good deal of having a sumptuous four course meal including steak with quality music, dancing, an international sport star and many other surprises on the night!

There will be a visual display of Emyvale Cycling Club members and images of times gone by. It will strike a chord with people on what will not only be a night of nostalgia but celebration of the the success and growth of cycling in Emyvale and Monaghan.

Sean Kelly will make time to speak to every table and there will be photo opportunities as well as a chance to get to meet a man who is undoubtedly a hero for anyone with even a slight interest in cycling.

The fun doesn't end on Saturday night but will continue on Sunday morning when there will be a leisure cycle with Sean Kelly. This cycle is an amazing opportunity for any member of the general public to hop on their bike and join Sean Kelly for a spin on the road. It is open not only to competitive cyclists but families, children and anyone who has a roadworthy bike and a helmet.

The cycle leaves from the Four Seasons on Sunday morning at 10 am. All proceeds of the cycle will go to the Drumkill Day Care Centre for Alzheimers in Monaghan. This is a 25km loop leaving Monaghan for Glaslough, Emyvale and back to Monaghan. Participants can choose to do one, two or three laps as they wish. Sean will cycle up and down between groups so no matter what group you leave with you will get to meet Sean Kelly on the road.

So if you can't make the dinner dance there will still be a chance to meet Kelly next Sunday the 16th.
