Derry Crit and Spires Trilogy This Week

The Maiden City Criterium in Derry City promoted by Foyle CC is an exciting new event in the Cycling Ulster calendar and we urge riders to support this event in the North West.  The crit will take place on tomorrow night, Tuesday 11th June starting at 7.00pm and sign on from 6.00pm.

This event is a competitive short circuit race, with cash prizes, around the centre of Derry on the evening of Tuesday the 11th of June at 7pm for senior riders who are members of Cycling Ireland.

The Criterium will be organised and run by Foyle Cycle Club with support from Sustrans and Derry City Council.

The circuit will be closed to traffic for the duration of the event.

The circuit around the Walled City will become a high speed thrilling spectacle when highly competitive cyclists from all over Ireland and the UK take to the starting grid. Lasting 30mins + 5 laps, this race will include A1, A2, & A3 Categories and will be run as a mass start. Cash prizes will be awarded to the overall winner, runners up and a handful of exciting primes during the race.

Note: No one day licenses will be issued at the Criterium and it will be pre-entry only. Therefore, no Club Licence holders allowed.

Thursday 13th June - Spires TT Trilogy Round 3 - Toome Course
On Thursday night Spires CC host the third and last of their ten mile time trials on the Toome course. Sign-on will take place in the Park and Ride facility on the Belfast side of the new bridge at Toome from 6.00pm. The first rider will be off at 7.00pm.

Riders are reminded that a good working rear red light is mandatory for all the Spires Time Trial Events. Riders taking part must hold a restricted licence as a minimum or a full competition licence. Spires CC members holding a club competition licence may also take part.
