Reminder Youth Fun Day Saturday 13th October

The David McCall Foundation have organised a Cycling / Outdoor Activity day for Cycling Ulster’s Youth at Tollymore National Outdoor Centre, on Saturday 13th October 2012. The emphasis of FUN will surround all the planned events during the programme, No Competition, No Rivalry, No hard training miles, just a good enjoyable get together to close off another season.

We have some good news and some bad. The good news is the entire day is priced at £5 per Youth, to cover lunch costs. The bad news is we are limited to 20 places per age group for those of you who wish to take part during the Climbing Wall and High Ropes sessions.  Listed below are some other points to note:-

12-14 yrs - Must own a mountain bike and have it available for the course.

15-18yrs – We intend to run a Road Session of approximately 40 - 45 miles taking in the flatter roads of the area. This will not be a race; however we are aware of the many different abilities amongst our Youth riders and we will have plenty of senior riders on hand to offer guidance, assistance and company.

For this age group we are also offering a Mountain Bike Session which will take place around the purpose built mountain bike circuit at Tollymore and the surrounding area. It is desirable that anyone who wants to take part during this session owns a mountain bike; however, if you are a roadie and wish to have a go at mountain biking, we will attempt to get a bike to allow you to give it a try.
