Reminder – Last Chance to Nominate Club of the Year
The deadline for submission of a nomination for Ulster Club of the Year 2012 has been extended until Tuesday 11th September. To date only one club has been nominated. We understand that Club secretaries are very busy but we would urge riders to contact their secretaries with suggestions for Ulster Club of the Year. Without the sterling work carried out by the club volunteers in promoting such a huge variety of events, those who enjoy taking part would be left wondering what to do.
The overall winner will have their club affiliation paid by Cycling Ulster for the 2013 season.
Please see below the original press release.
Cycling Ulster is seeking nominations for the Club of the Year 2012. Our clubs are the backbone of the organisation and the work that they do in promoting the sport of cycling in all areas is invaluable.
For the past number of years nominations for Club of the year have been received by the Executive which then votes on the nominees. However with the growth of clubs and the interest in cycling a change to the process will be made this year.
Once the nominations are in they will notified to the clubs and each club will be allocted one vote. The winning club will be the one with the most votes. In the event of a tie the final votes will go to the Executive members.
All nominations must be received before next Friday 7th September. Nominations should be completed by the club secretary giving a brief reason for nominating the club. Nomination forms can be downloaded at the end of this article. Nominations can be forwarded to marianlamb@ulstercyclingnews.com via email.
Please take time to nominate a club as there are so many clubs in Ulster who deserve recognition for the work they do throughout the year.
