Strong Entry for Banbridge Crit
The line-up for the 2017 Banbridge Criterium has now been released and it looks set to be another exciting night of action packed racing in Banbridge town this Friday evening, 12th May. Multiple time winner on the short 1km course, Roger Aiken, returns once again. In 2016 he was team mate to winner and National Champion Mark Dowling, however he returns now with an independent unattached licence and relieved of team obligations and will have free reign to fight for another win. Also returning is John Buller – the Banbridge CC teenager who put in a brave display last year to secure a hugely popular team win at the National Championships.… Read more
Banbridge CC Crit Open for Entry Monday
Banbridge CC are pleased to once again promote the Banbridge Criterium for 2017 on Friday 12th May. Following the success of the event in 2016 when it hosted the Irish National Championships Banbridge are pleased to confirm the event will use the same popular 1km circuit, starting and finishing on Banbridge town’s main high street – Newry St – to bring the fast paced action of crit racing to the town centre where it belongs. Dowling Retains National Crit Title
Tonight was the start of a busy week for Banbridge CC as they promoted the prestigious All Ireland Criterium Championships. Tomorrow they will also promote the popular and very tough John Beggs Memorial Road Races.
The National Criterium saw a top class field race around the short circuit in Banbridge. The event was closely fought with Philip Lavery of Baguet-M.I.B.A.-Indulek-Derito Cycling Team) showing his return to form. John Beggs Open for Pre-Entry
Pre-entry to the 2016 John Beggs Memorial promoted by Banbridge CC on Saturday 13th August is now open for entry. Two races will be promoted in Dromore, Co. Down, as part of the event. The main race for the day catering for A+, A1, A2 & A3 category riders is the penultimate round of the National Road Series and is expected to attract a very competitive field, but with a generous prize fund for unplaced category riders there will always be something for everyone to

Irish Crit Championships to be Televised
Banbridge CC is delighted to announce that the 2016 Irish Criterium Championships, held in Banbridge on Friday 12th August, will be broadcast on television channel TG4. The event will be covered over a 30 minute TV slot and will include rider interviews and plenty of fast paced action from the Championship race.
Due to the assistance of partner Velo Moto TV, who were the production company behind the fantastic television coverage of the Irish Road Race Championships which were also recently broadcast on TG4, it is a real step forward for Irish cycling to have the sport regularly broadcast to television sets across the country.… Read more
National Criterium Championships Now Open For Entry
The 2016 Irish National CriteriumChampionships, promoted by Banbridge Cycling Club, will take place in Banbridge town centre on the evening of Friday 12th August. Registration and entry is now open via the Cycling Ireland event registration page on www.cyclingireland.ie
The Championship race will commence at 19:45 sharp, lasting approx. 1 hr, over a 1km circuit with intermediate prime laps. The circuit will be that which has been successfully used in previous years for the Banbridge Criterium, starting and finishing in the town centre on Newry St. … Read more

Sunday 24th July 2016 Ernie Magwood Memorial 10 Mile TT
On Sunday East Tyrone CC will be promoting their annual 10 mile Time trial in memory of deceased member Ernie Magwood who was a great stalwart of the Time Trial scene. The event takes place on the Omagh Rd circuit with the sign-on from 9.00am.… Read more
Douglas Wins Lurgan Criterium
Last night Clann Eireann CC promoted a very successful criterium around the streets of Lurgan for Youth and A4 riders. The senior race for A4's provided an opportunity for many newcomers as well as experienced riders to have a go at this form of racing. Crit racing requires good bike handling skills and the ability to negotiate corners.
Brandon Douglas of West Down Wheelers certainly showed that he had skills aplenty when he won the event from Gavin Moore of North Down CC and Paul Smith of the recently formed Portadown Cycling Club. … Read more

There are a few events coming up this week starting with the Clann Eireann promoted Lurgan Criterium on Friday night and a couple of leisure cycles at the weekend. With the National Road and TT Championships taking place from Thursday through to Sunday there are no road race events this weekend. Details of events can be see below. McElderry and Thompson Take Coleraine by Storm
Last night Bann Wheelers promoted their criterium around the streets of Coleraine on a cool but dry evening. There was a good turnout for both races. The first race of the evening was for the A4's and in this event the home club were very much to the fore and in the end took three of the top six places.
Michael Thompson (Bann Wheelers) proved to be the strongest rider on the night taking the win from club-mate Rhodri Jones (Bann Wheelers) and Luke McMullen (Ballymena Road Club).… Read more
