Christie and Madden Smash 100 Record
Sunday morning saw twenty eight hardy souls tun up at Woodgreen at eight o'clock in the morning to register for the gruelling 100 mile time trial championships promoted by Ballymoney CC.
The weather conditions were good with hazy sunshine and the wind was not too strong. All the top contenders for a record attempt were on the line-up. Bryan McCrystal of Aqua Blue smashed the senior record last year with an outstanding time of 3:34:52 while John Madden set a new Veteran's record 3:42:49.… Read more
31/08/2014 Ernie Magwood Super Six Rd 5 Woodgreen
The fifth round of the Ernie Magwood Super Six TT Series once again saw some fast times at Woodgreen but to the disappointment of sonme ot was not a day for record breaks.
There was a strong headwind which testers had to fight against. Marcus Christie of the An Post CRC team emerged as the winner with a time of 19.17 just over a minute faster than second placed rider John Madden of Dig Deep Inspired.
Aspiring contender Sean McIntyre of Orchard CC took third place with a time of 20.26.… Read more

Downey smashed Junior 10 TT record as Madden equals Vets 10 TT
On what can only be described as a blustery evening few would have expected the times recorded at the Ballymena Road Club Chain Reaction 10 mile TT on the A26 Woodgreen Course on Wednesday 27 August 2014. Marcus Christie, John Madden and Mark Downey arrived ready to take on the current records that stood for the 10 mile TT Irish Record. Martin Fastest at West Tyrone TT
Lurgan's Thomas Martin (Caldwell Cycles) took the win in the West Tyrone Time Trial Grand Prix in Omagh on Sunday 24th August. Despite missing the majority of the season through illness, Martin was the fastest over the 10 miles course on the Dromore Road with a time of 21 minutes 50 seconds. Omagh Wheelers duo Paul and Darragh McCarter also recorded sub 22 minute times to take second and third respectively. … Read more
21/08/2014 Ernie Magwood Super Six Rd 4 Woodgreen
Colm Cassidy made the journey up from Dublin to take the win in Round 4 of the Ernie Magwood Super Six TT Series with a time of 19.09. He was followed in by John Madden of Dig Deep Inspired who recorded 19.42 while Northern Dave Kane's Frazer Duncan was third with a time of 19.59.
John Heveroin of Clann Eireann was the second veteran home on a time of 20.09 with Newry;s Sean Featherstone coming in next to take fifth place in a time of 20.44.… Read more

Marcus Christie Takes Senior Ulster 10 mile TT Title
Church Island Cycling Club hosted the Ulster 10 mile Time Trial Championships on Sunday 10th August 2014 on the A2 Toome course. Conditions were simply horrendous with most of Britain and Ireland under the wake of the ex-hurricane Bertha coming cover the Atlantic. Very heavy rain but with little wind meant for persistent downpours. Of the 100 pre-entered riders there were 82 finishers.… Read more

Jeffers Wins the Ernie Magwood 10 mile TT
On Sunday 27th July 2014 East Tyrone held their 4th annual Ernie Magwood Memorial Open 10 mile time trial on the notoriously fast Cookstown - Omagh Road circuit just 5 miles outside Cookstown. This event has attracted some of the top testers in the country in previous years including Marcus Christie and David McCann to name a few. Phoenix CC hosts successful open 27 mile TT
Phoenix Cycling Club put on an open time trial on Tuesday 22nd July 2014. The original venue at the Airport Road at Moira was considered to be too busy to host a safe event and the race committee decided to change the location to the Nutts Corner Circuit. The layout was of a circuit TT taking in just over 3 laps to make up a distance of approximately 27 miles using the Seven Mile Straight and Long Rig Road.… Read more

Strong Performances at the Ulster 25 mile TT Championships
BannValley Road Club promoted the 2014 Ulster 25 mile time trial championships on Saturday 19th July 2014 at Clady. Sean McIntyre won the men's Ulster 25 mile time trial championships at Clady in a time of 54 minutes and 9 seconds. It was a very close contest for the top three as silver went to Stephen Colbert (Colbert Cycles) just five seconds slower and Belfast teenager Daniel Stewart (East Antrim) was third at seven seconds. … Read more

Cassidy Takes Win but McIntyre is Champion
On Sunday 6 July 2014 Maryland Wheelers organised the annual Tommy Givan Memorial 50 mile time trial event on the Woodgreen circuit. This event doubled up as the Ulster 50 mile TT championships. The day was pleasant enough, sunny with light winds, not ideal for time trialling with most riders claiming that this year's conditions were slower than before. The fastest rider on the day was Colm Cassidy (UCD) in a time of 1 hour 42 minutes and 26 seconds which was quite a bit off the 1:40:10 set by Marcus Christie last year.… Read more
