Mark Rohan Unbeatable in World Cup

Irish eyes were certainly smiling in Segovia Spain this afternoon when Mark Rohan topped off his gold medal win in yesterday’s time trial by winning the H1 Road Race at the UCI Paracycling Road World Cup. Mark had also completed the gold medal double in Sydney last month in round one of the World Cup competition. With just one more event left in the 2011 series which takes place in Canada in July, Mark cannot now be caught so today’s win guarantees him the overall trophy.… Read more

Paracycling Squad for Spain Announced

A 12 strong squad of Irish Paracyclists head to Segovia Spain this week to compete in the 2nd World Cup of 2011 form the 10th to 12th of June. The squad includes the two Irish leaders in the competition Mark Rohan in the H1 Category and Colin Lynch in the C2 Category who will be attempting to retain their World Cup Leaders Jerseys they won in Sydney last month. Mark secured another P1 Win this weekend when winning the H1 Road Race in Oensigen Switzerland and he also finished 3rd in the Time Trial.… Read more

Outstanding Medal Success For Irish Paracyclists in Sydney

The Irish Paracycling Team of Mark Rohan, Cathal Miller and Colin Lynch accompanied by Manager Denis Toomey and Coach Brian Nugent have proved it was worth travelling to Sydney for the opening round of the 2011 UCI Para-cycling Road World Cup. In total the team have picked up three gold, one silver and one bronze medal in the competition.This will give them valuable rankings points which will go towards the Paralympics in London in 2012.

On Day 1 Mark Rohan won Gold in a Road Race following a hard fought win against the Canadian athlete after both broke clear on the first lap.… Read more

Handcycling – Try it Out Day Saturday

This Saturday the 23rd April, the hardworking group from the Ulster Handcycling Association, led by Darrell Erwin, will be promoting a 'Try it out Day' at the Antrim Forum. They will have different types of handcycles available for people to try out. Everyone of all ages is welcome to come along and give it a go.
