Team Madigan Cycling Club will promote the 2013 N. Ireland 25 Mile Time Trial Championships this Thursday 25th July 2013 at 7.00pm on the Woodgreen circuit on the (A26) South of Ballymena, Co. Antrim. (Junior, Seniors, Veterans / no youth riders due to distance)!

Sunday 21st July ETCC held their 3rd annual Ernie Magwood memorial 10 mile TT on the notoriously fast Omagh road circuit - As always ETCC held an impressive event , right from the marshal coverage , professional timing system, facilities for tea afterwards, and new addition this year a launch ramp to add to the professionalism if the event.
Based on previous years attendees, with winners such as Ivan Reid and David McCann this was always going to be a prestigious event attracting the best testers from 18 different clubs throughout the province and as far away as Donegal. … Read more

East Tyrone CC will host the Ernie Magwood Memorial ten mile time trial this Sunday. There will be a 200 pound prize fund and full details can be found on the poster below or on the website.

Marcus Christie was the only rider to break the 20 minute mark today as he picked up his second Ulster gold medal in a week after his stunning ride in the 50 champs last Sunday.

Marcus Christie Goes Sub 19 at Ernie Magwood Super 6.
Marcus Christie, having shattered the Irish 50 miles record the previous weekend, was the hot favourite to win the 10 mile event at Woodgreen on Thursday night past.
Marcus was tipped to do a solid 19, or as some though, possibly an 18, and based on the five consecutive 20 minute 10 mile time trials he done to get his 50 time to 1:40:10, it was feasible.
While conditions were very good at Woodgreen there have been better nights, which make his 18:37 all the more amazing; he surely could challenge the 10 record with another few attempts and the right conditions.… Read more
Ernie Magwood Super 6 Tonight
This Thursday sees round 4 of the Ernie Magwood Super 6 take place at Woodgeen. The weather is looking good, so come and give it a go. As usual this will also be a counter for the UWA league, With sign on from 6.30pm and first rider is off at 7.30pm.
Please be advised we need to tighten up on a few things. The parking along the dual carriageway at the start has to stop, please use the adjacent roads, or the lay-by just prior to the finish, there is loads of room for everyone.… Read more

Marcus Christie Smashes 50 Record
Maryland wheelers ran their annual Tommy Givan 50 mile time tiral this morning on the Woodgreen circut and this year it also doubled up as the Ulster Championships. There was a good turnout on a fantastic day with many riders setting impressive times.
However it was Marcus Christie who recorded a fantastic time of one hour forty minutes and ten seconds over the fifty miles which works out a just below 30 mph average speed.
Marcus Christie blasted the current Senior record of 1: 45:42 set by John Heverin of Clann Eireann when he recorded a blistering 1:40:10.… Read more

McCrystal Goes Sub 20
Cuchulainn CC's Brian McCrystal join that select group of riders in Ulster who have stopped the watch in less than 20 minutes in a ten mile time trial. He took the win in the West Down promoted TT from Eurocycles Thomas Martin and Rodney Stewart of TVR. Click continue reading for the full results.

CU Youth Training Sessions Begin in Jordanstown.
Cycling Ulster has held the first in a series of youth road race and time trial training session at the University of Ulster Jordanstown campus.
The sessions were well attended and the riders undertook a series of skills based activities to improve their cornering, TT starts and group riding. Then the riders, accompnyed by pairents and Cycling Ulster youth officer Colin Hughes, went for a youth 'club run' arround the south Antrim countryside. As ever with a club run towards the end the riders had the oppertunity to have a bit of a lash, in this case up the two mile climb of Knocka.… Read more
