Another busy week of road racing lies ahead with TVR's TT on Wednesday, Road Races for A1-A3. A4's, Women and Masters on Friday in Carndonagh, U16 race and Senior races at The Tommy Givan on Saturday, the Ards CC Champion of Champions TT on Sunday and races for all categories at the Emyvale GP on Sunday. Kanturk 2015 Ulster Youth Report
A large contingent of Ulster youth riders trvelled to Kanturk to take part in the two day stage race. Due to the U16 time trial stage of this year’s Kanturk 2 day being used as a selection event for the European Youth Olympics the Ulster Youth Academy decided that no U16 teams should be entered. This gave an opportunity for the Cycling Ulster Youth Academy to bring an extended U14 development team which comprised of 6 boys and 5 girls.

2016 Ulster Championships Now Open for Application
While it might seem very early the Executive of Cycling Ulster would like to hear from any clubs interested in promoting any of our Ulster Championships in 2016. We have a meeting in June and would like to be able to approve the events at that meeting in order to include them in 2016 calendar when it opens in September. This will allow the calendar co-ordinator to close off certain dates and allow club promoters to see when the Championships are on to avoid clashes.
With the growth of cycling and the increase in the number of clubs it is foreseen that 2016 will have a very full calendar of events and clashes will be inevitable.… Read more
National Time Trial Route Details Revealed + Test TT
Details of this year's National Championship time trial course were revealed by Race Director Stevie McKenna at the recent launch event in Omagh. The course, which is based on a single 23 mile loop, breaks from traditional flat routes and features a challenging and hilly profile with almost 1000ft of climbing.
McKenna said it’s going to be one to remember, “The course is a World's style course and it will certainly remove the predictability of flat out and back courses. It throws a bit of everything at the rider, but the first half will be the decisive element with a lot of hilly tough terrain.… Read more

Gold for Cookstown and Phoenix at Team TT
Thirteen teams lined up in very blustery conditions to compete in the Ulster team Time Trial Championships. The weather all day had been very inclement with heavy downpours of rain which may have caused other teams to stay away as normally this event attracts over twenty teams. However the night remained dry but very windy and cold for the hardy competitors who lined up to race against the clock in the hope of winning an Ulster Championship medal.… Read more

Armagh City Centre Crit Wednesday 6th May
With 24hrs left before the start of the Armagh City Criterium there are only 9 places available in the A4 only event.
According to the BBC Weather website promoting club Orchard CC are going to be lucky as the forcast is for a dry evening. Racing starts at 7.00pm with sign on open on The Mall East at 6.00pm.
This event will be a 1 HOUR Race plus 3 Laps. There will be Sprint Prime Laps at 30 and 40 mins with Prizes for first 3 in these and top 6 overall.… Read more

Tomorrow, Tuesday, 5th May, Phoenix CC will again host the Ulster Team Time Trial Championships which will be held over the 25 mile course at Woodgreen. This event is growing in popularity every year and a large entry is expected. A Limited Competition Licence is required as a minimum.
Shaw in the Pink after Stormont Stage
It was a gruelling climb and Damien Shaw of Team Asea rose to the challenge taking first place on the podium tonight at stage one of the AmberGreen Energy Tour of Ulster in partnership with SDS Group and Saltmarine Cars in Belfast.
Crowds gathered at the gates of Stormont to watch 140 cyclists set off in pairs for the Time Trial Stage 1, sponsored by Homecare Independent Living.
The cyclists raced their way past Carson's Monument before climbing the hill up to the steps at Stormont.… Read more
