Northwest Classic Opens for Entry Tonight

Northwest CC are delighted to be promoting the inaugural Northwest Classic on the 2nd April with races for A3 and A4 riders. Sign on & Race HQ is at Gortnahey Community Centre, 91 Gortnahey Rd, BT47 4UJ

Roll out from at Race HQ at 1250 behind lead car to Burnfoot village where racing starts at 1pm. Refreshments will be served after the racing back at race HQ.… Read more

Fyffe Makes it Two in a Row at Seskinore

The sun was shining in Omagh today for the McCann Cup races kindly sponsored by Ballymore Civils. 267 riders turned out for a day of racing covering Laps of the Seskinore circuit.

First off were the masters with close on 40 riders fighting for top 3 places and covering 3 laps. Mickey Gallen - OWCC- set the pace early on and this was maintained for the duration! In the end Michael Tolan of Phoeix took the win from Orchard CC James McCusker who was followed in by Tom Henry of North Down CC.… Read more

Fyffe Wins The John Moore Memorial Race

Castlereagh CC ran two main races today, a handicap event for  A1-A3 and an A4 race as well as  four lap race for women. The race ran smoothly without incident. Thanks to Commissaires mark Lamb, and Jean McGinley and to all the trainee commisssaires who turned up.

McCann Cup This Sunday

This Sunday, 5th March a feast of racing awaits the large field of riders who have already signed up for the Omagh Wheelers flagship event, the McCann Cup. This year the renowned day of racing is generously sponsored by Ballymore Services Ltd, with a prize fund of over £1000 across the 5 races
being held.

All races will take place over the traditional 10 mile Seskinore circuit and the action kicks off with the Masters event at 11.00am, followed by the Women's event at 11.05am, both events being part of their respective Ulster leagues.… Read more

Derrymacash Grand Prix Saturday 18th March

On Saturday 18th March, Clann Eirean CC will be promoting their usual St Patrick's Race at Derrymacash for A and A4 riders only.

The race headquarters is the Goodyear Social Club on Silverwood Rd, Lurgan. This will be a handicap road race. The event will roll out of the HQ at 10.45 to the circuit here the race will start at 11.0 am. The race will cover six laps of the circuit. Entry fee is 312 if you register online at www.clanncc.net. John Haldane Memorial Race this Sunday 26thFebruary

Newry Wheelers Cycling club will host the ever popular John Haldane Memorial Race on Sunday 26thFebruary. Newry Wheelers are renowned throughout Ireland as being one of the top cycling clubs in promoting races and this event has filled up very quickly due to its popularity.

The race will take place on the Warrenpoint to Newry dual carriageway. The flat course will ensure there will be no hiding places and little recovery for those racing.

There is racing for all categories which is kindly sponsored by Haldane Fisher who will sponsor the A1/2 race the A3 race and A4 race with local building contractor Mc Kinley Contracts sponsoring the Ladies/Masters event.… Read more

Gary McKeegan Announced as Manager for Youth Commonwealth Games

After a interview process which took place on Friday the Interview Panel are pleased to announce that Gary McKeegan of Team Madigan has been selected as the coach/manager for the 2017 Youth Commonwealth Games. The Games take place between 17 – 23rd July 2017 in the Bahamas.

The Youth Commonwealth Games is a fantastic opportunity for young riders to gain the experience that a multi-sport event provides.
The first task for the new manager will be the drawing up of the selection criteria for the Games which will affect riders in the Junior classification.… Read more

Ulster’s Road Commission Announce Plans for 2017

The Cycling Ulster Road Commission is pleased to announce their provisional programme of competitive events for their male teams in the senior, under 23 and junior categories for the 2017 season.

The highlight of the planned programme will see an Ulster team compete in An Post Rás which takes place from 21st to the 28th May. With five of the eight stages of this year’s Irish national tour taking place on Ulster roads, primarily in the county of Donegal, it is fitting that an Ulster team returns to take part in the race for the first time in over a decade.… Read more

Danny Boy Races Open on Monday

The Roe Valley CC Danny Boy Races will be open for entry at 8.00pm on Monday the 27th of February. The races are being held on Sunday the 12th of March, sign on starts at 9.30am at race HQ, in St Mary's GAA club, Feeney, County Derry . Women and Masters may sign on the day.

Full Day of Racing at Phoenix GP

aThe hard-working team at Phoenix CC were kept going from early morning as the club promoted racing for all senior categories at the George Rooney Phoenix GP.

First up were the Masters and the over sixties were given a  two minute handicap back to the over fifties. The pace was hard and the long drag back to the finish took its toll on some riders. Coming to the line there was a full on sprint for the finish which was taken by Brian Hannan of Banbridge CC.… Read more
