"On Saturday is our Christmas Cycle, because we have been so lucky this year and Christmas is a time to remember those less fortunate than ourselves and get teddy bears for some children."

VC Glendale Cycling Celebration

7 (300x88)At the start of April this year VC Glendale applied through the National Lottery Big Lottery Fund for a grant to take kids from different areas of Belfast to five different mountain biking locations in Northern Ireland.

They were inspired by the City of Culture events happening in Derry and thought it would be a great idea to use biking to let kids express their culture side.

The intense application was put together by Colm Watson and submitted in July and  the lottery was obviously impressed because after only a few weeks they awarded the club a grant to carry out their project.… Read more

trackFriday the 15th November saw the Neenan Travel Talent Team, along with some juniors, board an early morning flight to Holland.   The trip was put together by Alan Neenan of Neenan Travel, so no stone was left unturned.   Accommodation was arranged in a Hotel very close to the Velodrome and a coach was hired to take us from the Airport straight to the Hotel to drop off bags then on to the Velodrome for our first of three sessions with Herman Schenk.

The girls were all very excited and a little nervous to get on the boards, even the girls who had previously ridden on an indoor Velodrome were a little apprehensive, as it had been some time since they had been on the wood.   … Read more
