Call Eireann Youth Crit 29th June

1Clann Eireann will be promoting a series of crits for young riders on Friday 29th June. There will be racing for U10's, U12's U14's and16's and both boys and girls will be catered for. There will also be a novice race for beginners.

The event will take place in Lurgan Park with sign-on from 6.00pm to 6.30pm.

Parking for cars will be at Waves Swimming pool car park.

Fun Crit Series For Youth Tomorrow Night

Tomorrow night sees the start of a Fun Crit trio series for youth riders. Phoenix CC, North Down CC and  Apollo CT have come together to organise three crits for Youth riders in safe off road venues.

Tomorrow night sees North Down host the first in the series at Kirkistown race course. Phoenix CC take up the reins on Tuesday 19th June and the venue will be Nutts Corner race circuit. the final event in the series will be promoted by Apollo CT at Bishopscourt race track on Tuesday 26th June.… Read more

Great Results for Ulster in Inter-Regionals Off Road

1The Inter Regional Mountain Bike Championships, run by British Cycling, brings together the best of young talent from all regions of the UK. The event is made up of teams of Under 14 and Under 16 boys and girls, competing against one another to gain points for their teams. The standard of competition is extremely high, with British and European champions in attendance.

On Friday 22nd September, the Ulster team headed to Essex with Team Coach, Graham Boyd and Team Manager, Lisa Millar. Team Assistant, Gareth Skelly, had already set sail, aboard the Belfast to Liverpool ferry and met everyone else there.… Read more

Clann Eireann will promote  youth racing tomorrow night, Friday 30th, at 6.45pm. The event sign-on is Lurgan Town Hall at 6.30 with an entry fee of £3 for youth riders and £1 for novice riders. More information can be found on the poster below.… Read more

Noel Teggart Races Open for Entry

Pre-entry for the 2017 Noel Teggart Memorial opened on Tuesday 6th June via the Cycling Ireland web portal.  A total of 6 races will be on offer for what looks set to be a busy and exciting day of racing
in Banbridge. The flagship event for the day will cater for A1 & A2 riders covering a total distance of 130km over 7 laps of the well-known Banbridge/Gilford/Scarva circuit.  A separate race will be hosted to cater for the A3 and A3 Junior riders, using the same course but with a reduced distance of 110km  covering 6 laps.… Read more

Feast of Racing at Emyvale

Emyvale Grand Prix :
Emyvale CC held their annual Gp on Sunday 21st May. The youth races kicked off at 10.00am with U16s off first with 4 laps of a 10km circuit from Emyvale to Corracrin to Glennan and back to Emyvale. They were followed by the U14s with 2 laps and the U12s with 1 lap. The racing was fast with plenty of attacking but all breakaways were taken back for the hill sprint at the end. Thanks to Emma McKenna, representing Emyvale Credit Union, for helping with prize-giving along with former pro cyclist and Irish Olympian, Mark Scanlon, who was to ride the main event later on.

Banbridge CC Crit Open for Entry Monday

Banbridge CC are pleased to once again promote the Banbridge Criterium for 2017 on Friday 12th May.  Following the success of the event in 2016 when it hosted the Irish National Championships Banbridge are pleased to confirm the event will use the same popular 1km circuit, starting and finishing on Banbridge town’s main high street – Newry St – to bring the fast paced action of crit racing to the town centre where it belongs. Fyffe was the Man on Form At East Tyrone GP

afAngus Fyffe of Omagh Wheelers continued his string of fine performance this year by taking the East Tyrone GP in style. Fyffe who has ridden with pro-continental outfit the An Post Sean Kelly team stamped his mark on the race early on. The tough six lap race for was run off in glorious sunshine.  Darnel Moore of Caldwell Cycles took second place with Alan Bingham of Cuchullain CC in third.  East Tyrone Junior, Harvey Barnes, was given special permission to ride this A event and he showed what he was made of by taking fourth place.… Read more
