Kinning Cycles Cross League Is a Go
Kinning Cycles CC are all set for the upcoming cyclocross season 2016/17 following on from the huge success of last year's first cross race at Orangefield park. The drop in the daylight into the evening added to the electric atmosphere. This year we will return to Orangefield Park for the season opener of the Kinning Cross League which will be floodlit. It will be the first round in Ulster, but not part of the Ulster cross series. Instead Kinning Cycles will hold their own league with a twist on the General classification, which will be based on time from all 4 rounds.… Read more
Ulster 10 m TT Championships This Sunday
Marcus Christie, who smashed his Irish National 50 mile TT record (subject to ratification) onWednesday night, will compete in the Ulster 10m Time Trial Championship which is being hosted by Foyle Cycling Club on Sunday. Upwards of 100 top amateur cyclists will descend on the County Derry village of Eglinton to participate in the Championship. The first rider is scheduled to start at 11.30am.
After successfully hosting their Grand Prix on 17 July in Killea, where almost 175 riders took part across all disciplines, Foyle Cycling Club now host the 2016 Ulster 10 Mile Time Trial Championships on Sunday 31 July, in Eglinton, County Derry.… Read more
Errigal Internatioanl Youth Tour This Weekend
The Errigal International Youth Tour is taking place this weekend 30/31 July and 1st August. The 3-day, 4-stage event for under 12,14 and 16 riders includes 2 road races, a time trial and a criterium. Over 240 boys and girls have entered across the three age groups , coming from all across the British Isles, Malta, France, Belgium, Isle of Man and South Africa as well as from all parts of Ireland. With such big numbers Errigal CC will working hard to ensure that there are plenty of volunteers on hand to help out.… Read more
Ulster Road Race Championships Details
On Sunday 4th September 2016, Foyle Cycling Club will be hosting the Ulster Road Championships at Eglinton, Co Derry. This takes place on same course as last year. Each lap is 45.6kms long, starting at the Main Street Eglinton village, and features 524m of total ascent.
Pre entry is essential via entrycentral.com before September 2nd.
Entry fee via Entry Central is £15 for all races. On the day entry will be subject to spaces being available. Sign-on is at Eglinton Community Centre BT47 3AD.

Christie in Top Form at Ernie Magwood Memorial '10'
On Sunday East Tyrone CC held their annual ten mile time trial in memory of deceased member Ernie Magwood. Twenty one riders took part in the event and thankfully the rain held off for the event.
Marcus Christie of Team Asea was in top form winning the event with a time of 19:56 over a minute faster than Joe McCrory of Carn Wheelers who posted a 22:07. Third place went to another Carn rider, Ali Gribbon with 22:18.… Read more
Sherlock is Monaghan Co’s RR Champion
Glaslough village was once again the setting for this year's Monaghan county championship race. Thirty riders from clubs all over the county and further afield gathered at Main Street Glaslough for a gruelling 7 lap race. Emyvale CC had a good representation as had Carrickmacross CC, Navan CC, Keevan CC, Killylough and South Dublin CC. The race was spilt into 2 groups with scratch having a 3 minute gap on the main group to make up in the chase.

National Criterium Championships Now Open For Entry
The 2016 Irish National CriteriumChampionships, promoted by Banbridge Cycling Club, will take place in Banbridge town centre on the evening of Friday 12th August. Registration and entry is now open via the Cycling Ireland event registration page on www.cyclingireland.ie
The Championship race will commence at 19:45 sharp, lasting approx. 1 hr, over a 1km circuit with intermediate prime laps. The circuit will be that which has been successfully used in previous years for the Banbridge Criterium, starting and finishing in the town centre on Newry St. … Read more

Craig McAuley of Caldwell Cycles consolidated his lead in the Glenshane TT Series promoted by Carn Wheelers tonight when he emerged as the winner recording a time of 20:13 for the ten mile course. The next three places were taken by the TT specialists of the promoting club namely Joe McCrory, Jonny Taylor and Ali Gribbon. These three have emerged as serious riders in the 'race of truth' and are always near the top of the leader-board in TT events. Ali Gribbon was also the first of the M40 class.… Read more
