This event is for Ulster riders in the Under 14's or Under 16's age categories. Ulster will be up against 13 other regions from across Great Britain. Riders must be able to travel over to the games on that weekend.

There are a few events coming up this week starting with the Clann Eireann promoted Lurgan Criterium on Friday night and a couple of leisure cycles at the weekend. With the National Road and TT Championships taking place from Thursday through to Sunday there are no road race events this weekend. Details of events can be see below. The 2016 National Road Race Championships will take place in Kilcullen from the 23-26 June promoted by Orwell Wheelers. This year's Championship has not had a smooth passage this year with the venue being changed several times. However Orwell persevered and now have courses which they feel are worthy of a championship. The new courses in Kildare will provide a perfect location for top class racing across the Elite Women, Elite Men, U23 Men, M40, M50 and M60 categories. The Road Races will take place in Kilcullen over 25-26 June, with the Time Trial course running from Kilcullen to Athy and back on Thursday 23rd June 2016.… Read more
Strabane Lifford CC held their Grand Prix on Sunday 19th, promoting two races. The race was run off in very wet and windy conditions.
Top junior JB Murphy from Killcullen Cycling Club Co Kildare riding for Murphy Surveyors took the first place in the SLCC Grand Prix followed by Finbar McGurren of Mc Nally Swords CC. Third spot went to Donegal’s Chris Birney Sportactive with Rory Devlin Caldwell Cycles in fourth position. These four developed a substantial break midway through the race which they held to the finish of a 100km, four laps of a 15 mile circuit in East Donegal near the town St Johnston.… Read more
The Noel Teggart Memorial promoted by Banbridge CC 2016 took place today in very wet conditions but that did not stop the riders giving it their all from the start. Banbridge CC promoted a full programme of events for Youth riders prior to the senior races. First off were the Uder 12's and on this occasion it was Shea O'Kane form Phoenix CC to had the legs to take the win ahead of Adam Rafferty of Island Wheelers. Maria McAllister of Island Wheelers was third overall and first girl with Scott Roberts f Xmtb McConvey Cycles third in the boys competition.… Read more
Christie Unbeatable in Woodgreen 25
Ballymoney CC promoted its Father's Day Time Trial this morning on the Woodgreen circuit. Forty one riders took part, six of whom were women showing that women's cycling continues to grow. The weather was cool but with light rain at times.
Marcus Christie of Team Asea Wheelworx dominated the event coming in almost five minutes faster than nearest rival Chris Hutchinson of Team Madigan. Christie recorded a blistering 50:25 for the twenty five mile course while Hutchinson came in at 54:53.… Read more
Marcus Christie of Asea Wheelworx continues to show his return to form when he won tonight's Round 3 of the Ernie Magwood Super 6 TT League. He posted a time of 19.18 which was almost a minute faster than second placed rider, Craig McAuley of Caldwell Cycles. Team Madigan's Chris Hutchinson was third with 20:27. Ali Gribbon of Carn Wheelers was first of the M40 class an fourth overall with 20.45 while Sharman Crawford of Bann Wheelers topped the M50 class with 22:13.
Sean Hargan of Phoenix CC continues to dominate the M60 class with his 22:38 although Dominic Drumm of Bann Wheelers wasn't too far behind with 22:46.… Read more
Last night Ards CC promoted their well organised Town Centre Races beginning with a full programme of events for youth riders. There was a large crowd of over thirty riders aged between 3 and 10 for the novice class which was won by Aliyah Rafferty of Island Wheelers.
Shea O’Kane (Phoenix) emerged as winner of the U12 event which had nine competitors., Adam Rafferty (Island Wheelers CC) and Rachel White (North Down CC) took second and third while Avie Doherty (VC Glendale) was first unplaced girl.… Read more
On Sunday the progressive Apollo CT who celebrate their twentieth anniversary this year is promoting its ABC Sportive which is the culmination of their Sofa to Saddle programme. People in the Armagh, Banbridge, Craigavon area have been on a 10 week programme hosted by local cycling clubs, Apollo CT, Dromore CC, Banbridge CC and Portadown CC.
This is part of a funded Public Health Agency scheme along with Armagh City, Banbridge & Craigavon Borough Council A total of 60 people have been introduced to cycling through the programme and fears dismissed about the black art of cycling clubs.… Read more
There are three road races on this coming weekend and a number of leisure rides. Road Races include the Audi GP on Saturday and the Strabane Ligfford GP and Noel Teggart on Sunday. The Bangor Coastal Challenge for leisure riders is being promoted on Sunday by North Down. Apollo CT are also running a leisure event and details of this can be viewed in a separate story HERE.
