Ballymena Road Club Billy Kerr Sportive Now Open for Entry

On Line Registration is now open for the Billy Kerr Cycling Sportive which takes place on Sat 16 August 2014. We wish to extend a warm invitation to all both new and seasoned cyclists

This event is being organised for the first time to commemorate the legendary cycling career of Billy Kerr who sadly passed away in 2012. Billy was a member of Ballymena Road Club and he represented Northern Ireland at two Commonwealth Games and Ireland in the 1980 Olympic games in Moscow. Mr Kerr’s talent shot the name of Ballymena Road Club to the forefront of amateur cycling after back-to-back successes in the prestigious Tour of the North race in 1978 and 1979.… Read more

Kilbride Charity Cycle - Saturday  7th June
Kilbride Cyclists are proud to offer a scenic country route of 90km around County Antrim which has a few inclines and takes a break in Glenarm for refreshments. So whether you are a serious cyclist or a novice wanting to cycle the distance for the first time the Kilbride Cyclists Charity Challenge is the event for you! The Challenge starts and finishes at Kilbride Presbyterian Church which has ample car parking and changing facilities. En-route there will be water stations, a “broom wagon” for breakdowns etc.… Read more

Upcoming Events – 3 Time Trials and Leisure Events

Spires Trilogy TT Series Thursday 29th May - Toome Course
On Thursday Spires CC will host the second round of their very popular time trial series on the Toome course. Sign-on will be from 6.45pm to 7.15pm at the Park and Ride facility on the Belfast side of Toome. The first rider will be off at 7.30pm. Riders are reminded that a working rear red light is required for all time trials.

Fintown Festival Leisure Cycle Saturday 31st May
On Saturday the hardworking Tir Chonaill GAP cycling Club will promote a leisure cycle in conjuction with the Fintown Fesitval in South Donegal.… Read more

Kings Moss Sportive Sunday 18th May
Kings Moss Cycling Club invite riders of all abilities to a sportive challenge on Sunday 18th May 2014 on some of the best roads in County Antrim. Kindly supported by Chain Reaction Cycles, the Kings Moss Sportive will again be held in aid of the Northern Ireland Cancer Fund for Children and aims to raise cash to help cancer care and support for children and their parents.

The 100 km event not only shows the best of our local and surrounding areas, but offers a challenging ride for experienced cyclists without doing so at the cost of those who are newer to the sport.… Read more

Square Wheels are Calling all Italians to a Special Cycle

Square Wheels Cycle Club, based in Moy on the Tyrone/Armagh border, are celebrating the Giro d’Italia by organising a unique club exchange with their Italian counterparts, S.C. Novese Fausto Coppi from Novi Ligure in the Italian region of Piedmont.

The Moy has strong links with the Piedmont region. When the Earl of Charlemont came back from his Grand Tour in the 1760’s he was so impressed by the Italian town of Bosco Marengo in Piedmont that he decided to build the village of Moy as a replica. … Read more

Ride the Giro Route With Orchard CC – Entries Open

This coming Saturday 3rd May 2014, Shelbourne Orchard CC will be hosting the Armagh Stage 3 Fields of Life Sportive which takes in the route and climbs of this year's visit of the Giro which departs from Armagh.

The route is from Armagh to Loughgall after which it will follow the Armagh - Dublin Giro d'Italia Stage 3 route through Kilmore, Richhill, Hamiltonsbawn, Markethill, Keady, Newtownhamilton, and Bellek from where it will then head towards Camlough, Bessbrook and Mountnorris before heading back to Armagh through Markethill & Richhill.… Read more

On The Rivet Charity Cycle Celebrating John Mulligan

rivaOn Sunday 30th March The Mulligan family held On the Rivet Charity cycle celebrating John Mulligan from Drumragh Club rooms Omagh. All Proceeds went to Beacon House Omagh. Everyone was excited as they know they were cycling around local roads with the legend of cycling none other than Sean Kelly.

The atmosphere and Craic was fantastic as Sean mingled with everyone for photos and signings. The cycle consisted of a controlled 30/40 miles which saw a lot of newcomers taking up the challenge which was great to see.… Read more
