Cycling Ulster Off-road Commission – Youth Coaching Sessions
The Cycling Ulster Off-road Commission plan to run a series of coaching sessions aimed at the U12/U14/U16 age groups. These intermediate level sessions are aimed at existing racers who would like to improve their technical riding skills with the aim of improving their race results. The first of the sessions is planned for Saturday 11th February at Barnetts Demesne trail centre at 12:30 pm at the Mary Peters car park at the trail head. CU Off Road need Expressions of Interest for British NPS Series
In 2016 Cycling Ulster had sent a cross-country mountain bike team to the British NPS series. The Off-road Commission is now looking for expression of interest from riders who wish to join this team to compete at the British events in 2017. As per 2016 the team will be made up of a maximum of 4 riders. Age categories are Junior and Under 23 (male or female).
Eligibility for the team is as follows:
- The rider must have been born in Ulster, or the rider must belong to an Ulster cycling club or the rider must live in Ulster.
Halloween Howl Mountain Bike Event Sunday 30th October
Tir Chonaill Gap Cycling Club is holding a mountain bike event around the hills of Glenties at the end of the month. Registration will take place at 12 noon at Glenties Community Centre, on Sunday 30th of October, with the event getting underway at 1.00pm.The participants have to ride down the steps beside the Garda station in Glenties to start off this event in style. The pace will then be controlled up the Glen of Glenties road for three and a half miles. From this point they’re on their own as they turn off the road and start climbing the mountain, a climb sure to make the riders glad when they have reached the top.… Read more

This weekend sees Newry Wheelers promote their very popular three day stage race on Friday to Sunday while in Donegal Four Masters Cycling Club witll be promoting the JG Memorial Race on Saturday For those who prefer to go it alone against the clock you can line up in the Ulster 50mile Tommy Givan Championship event. Sun Finally Shines for Rd 3 Ulster XC at Ballykelly
The day started off wet and miserable but still the riders came in droves to Ballykelly Forest where Caldwell Cycles were promoting Round 3 of the Ulster Cross Country League. The club had designed a new and challenging course which was more challenging following the rain. However the sun did eventually appear and the day brightened and warmed. Caldwell Cycles had put much effort into ensuring that everyone enjoyed their experience in the North West and congratulations are due to all those who helped out to provide a great day's racing.… Read more
Road and Off Road Races this Week
There are two road races on this weekend with Orchard CC promoting both the Armagh Criterium tomorrow night, Wednesday, and the Groucho GP on Saturday and Newry Wheelers running the Tour of the Mournes on Sunday. In the off road discipline Caldwell Cycles will be hosting Round 3 of the Ulster Cross-country Mountain Bike Series at Ballykelly Forest. For more details of all these event see below

Great Racing at Round 2 Ulster XC at Tollymore
The weather was kind to the promoters of the second round of the Ulster XC Series, Dromara CC, as they prepared the course for the weekend's racing. By Saturday morning the hard-working crew had everything done and dusted in time for the afternoon practices. On Sunday morning the real racing began.
As with all the Ulster events there was a full programme of events for the young riders from Under 6 upwards. The U6 event is purely for fun and is non-competitive. In the U8 girls it was Aisling Smyth of Apollo who took the win from Eimer Heverin (Castlereagh CC) and Beth Campbell (XMTB McConvey Cycles).… Read more

Orchard CC TT Cancelled
The Orchard CC promoted Time Trial which was due to take place on Saturday 23rd April has been cancelled. This is because the Tandragee 100 is taking place on that day on the same circuit. Orchard CC apologise for any inconvenience caused.
Mid Ulster GP Sunday 24th April
The Mid Ulster GP promoted by Harps Cycling Club will be held on Sunday 24th April 2016. Harps CC will be promoting racing for all categories so it will be a busy day for the club.… Read more

Super 6 TT Series Round 1 : Saturday 9th April
The first round of the 2016 Hayes Fuels Ernie Magwood Super 6 Time Trial Series takes place this Saturday on the Toome circuit. Click HERE for a map of the start location and also the course. Riders will require a minimum of a limited competition licence, and also a rear light. (Front light also advisable). All other TT rules apply. Saturday 2nd April 2016 : Ciclisport GP
The Ciclisport Grand Prix for 2016 will take place on Saturday 02nd April. This is a pre-entry event which is now filled. The Race HQ is the Loup GAA and sign on is from 9.00 to 9.30am. There are races for U14, U16, A1/A2, A3 , A4 and Women. There is no Master's race due to time constraints. Racing starts at 10.0am for U16, U14 and Women. The Women's race Race is part of the Ulster Women's League. Youth Races are part of the Ulster Youth League.Racing starts at 12.30pm for: A1/A2, A3 and A4
