Bikedock Belles Downhill in Scotland

Last weekend (7/8th May) saw Belles Julie and Andrea and Monthlies Joanne and Debbie head to Scotland for some Downhill MTB fun. The destination was Kinnoul Hill just north of Perth for the Diva Descent - the UK’s first female only Downhill race. It was suggested several weeks ago that this would be a good trip for Debbie, who had stated that she wanted to do something new and spectacular before she turned 40 on 9th May.

The race began with all the girls staring into the pouring rain and plenty of supporters cheering them on and in Debbie’s case screaming “ Don’t touch your brakes”, which worked as she got round the tech bits with only a foot down and sailed through the finish line to the music from the Red Bull truck and a grin wide enough to put a coat hanger in!… Read more

Ulster XC/Irish NPS This Sunday Tollymore

Pre-registration has opened for Round 2 of the Ulster League which will be held on Sunday 15 May 2011 at Tollymore Forest. This event is promoted by Banbridge CC. Summit Mountain Biking Youth Skills Session on Sunday 8th May

Summit Mountain Biking are holding a youth MTB 2 hour skills session at Belvoir Activity Center on Sunday. The session will start at 10am for the under 8 and under 10 youth groups which will include all the basic bike handling skills and a fun obstacle course to have a play on. The voucher winners at the Ulster XC MTB League can use them to avail of free entry while other members of the under 8 and 10 categories are also welcome along for the day for a £5 entry fee.… Read more

Launch of the 6 round Ulster XC MTB Series with Davagh Forest on 1 May 2011

The 2011 Ulster Cross-Country Mountain Bike Series kicks off on Sunday 1 May 2011 at Davagh Forest near Cookstown. Host club Carn Wheelers have been working hard over the last few months modifying the course they had set out for the first time last year. This year the club was awarded a round of the National Point Series (NPS) which will attract a large contingent from the whole of Ireland.
