Wallace Caldwell RR Now Open To All For Pre-entry.

As advertised in a previous post Ballymena RC will hold the Wallace Caldwell RR on Sat 27th July.  To date the road club had only been accepting entries from those who had pre-entered the race when it was originally scheduled in March.  However the club are pleased to be able to release the remaining places for pre-entry to those who weren't entered for the original race.  To book your place in the race please call BRC race sec Hugh McCullough on the numbers below, riders pre-entering between now and the race can just pay on the day, no forms etc are required, just call Hugh.… Read more


21/07/2013 Ernie Magwood Memorial Time Trial


Sunday 21st  July ETCC held their 3rd annual Ernie Magwood memorial 10 mile TT on the notoriously fast Omagh road circuit - As always ETCC held an impressive event , right from the marshal coverage , professional timing system,   facilities for tea afterwards, and new addition this year a launch ramp to add to the professionalism if the event.

Based on previous years attendees, with winners such as Ivan Reid and David McCann this was always going to be a prestigious event attracting the best testers from 18 different clubs throughout the province and as far away as Donegal.  Read more


2013 All-Ireland Vets/Junior TT Championships & A3/Junior RR Championships Open For Pre-entry.

Were You There? Irish Corner Alpe d’Huez 2013

Group 1In the one hundreth edition of Le Tour de France the Irish decided to make a section of Alpe d'Huez, the mythical mountain, their own.

A campaign was started to take over Virage 10 and make it uniquely Irish. While it was never going to surpass Corner 7 or Dutch Corner the Irish rallied and in a short space of time the flags  and emblems of Ireland were on show. We would like to thank those who were involved in making all of this possible.

As momemtum grew through social media both the President of Cycling Ireland, Rory Wyley and the Chairman of Cycling Ulster, Tommy Lamb, felt that they should be there to lend their support and to cheer on our Irish riders Nicholas Roche (Saxo Tinkoff) and Dan Martin (Garmin Sharp).… Read more

Banbridge Crits next Wednesday.

As previously advertised, the Banbridge Crit races will now take place on Wednesday 24th July in Banbridge town centre. Three races will be accommodated for, including an over 50's and ladies race, an A3 race, the final and main race of the evening will see the A1 and A2 riders take to the streets.

The circuit is a fully closed 1km town centre circuit, starting and finishing on Banbridge’s main Newry Street above the well-known ‘Cut’ with fast open sections, fast sweeping corners and a drag that while at first may not appear too vicious will certainly become a significant section of the circuit when the pressure is on.… Read more


Entries open for 25th Madigan Cycles Grand Prix.

Team Madigan Cycling Club, Carrickfergus will promote the 25th Madigan Cycles Grand Prix at Kilroot near Carrickfergus Co. Antrim starting at 1.00pm and finishing at around 3.15pm on Saturday 3rd August.

This year the Madigan G.P. will follow the World Police & Fire Games Road Races that take place in the morning of the 3rd August at Kilroot ( WP&FG starting at 9.30am and finishing around 11.30am).

For the 25th year the Madigan G.P. race is again kindly sponsored by Mr Ronnie McKeegan of Madigan Cycles in Carrickfergus, and also for the fifth year by Carrickfergus Borough Council.… Read more


The Oliver Kane Cup A3 and A4 Races at Dervock This Saturday.


Ballymoney CC will promote The Oliver Kane Cup A3 and A4 Shield Road races at Dervock on Saturday 20th July.

There will be a programme of Youth racing.

Under 16 race 1st - 3rd (Cash prizes)

Under 14 race (Memorial Shields)

Under 12 race (Memorial Medals)

A3 and A4 80km road race on a fast and exciting circuit. with the Oliver (Big O) Kane Memorial Cup for the first A3 and the local Restaurant has donated a perpetual shield for the first A4 rider.

There will be cash prizes for the first 5 riders, and depending on the numbers signing on there will be specially dedicated collectable medals presented.… Read more

East Tyrone CC will host the Ernie Magwood Memorial ten mile time trial this Sunday.  There will be a 200 pound prize fund and full details can be found on the poster below or on the website.

Belgian racing, Donegal style at the Donegal Bay Kermesse, Sat 20th July.

Kermesse13-4-page-001Donegal Bay CC will promote the Donegal Kermesse this Saturday 20th July in  Mountcharles, Co. Donegal.  Sign on will be at St. Nauls G.A.A grounds from 8:30am.

The A4 race will have a 5km circuit,  13 laps makes is a 65km race and will start at 10am, 

The A1/A2/A3 race will use a 6.3km circuit, 13 laps makes an 82km race and it starts at 1pm.  

There will be a cash prize fund of €750 sponsored by Ted's Bike Shop and KOH primes sponsored by Donegal Bay Oysters.… Read more

Christie Crowned Ulster 10 Champion

Marcus Christie was the only rider to break the 20 minute mark today as he picked up his second Ulster gold medal in a week after his stunning ride in the 50 champs last Sunday.
