Details of Mid Ulster GP
The Mid Ulster GP Promoted by Harps Cycling Club will be held on Sunday 26th April 2015. There will be an A race for A1-A3 riders which is handicapped and a B race for A4's. Both races were pre-entry and are now full with 42 on the waiting list for the A race and 11 on the B race. Sign On is at the Mid Ulster Sports Arena, Tullywiggan Road, Cookstown, BT80 8SG.

Advice for Riders and Managers from Cycling Ireland
As we approach the first stage races of the 2015 Road Racing season, some will be competing in a stage race for the first time while others may not have the appreciation of the immense workload stage race organisers take on to make their event as professional as possible.
Below are 10 points that can be of use to stage race competitors and also one day race competitors that will help avoid any hassle or penalties and enable them to concentrate on the race itself:
- Be on time for event registration and sign on for each of the stages.
Wheels Ready to Roll for Easter Tour
The Tour of the North International cycle Stage race takes to the roads of County Antrim and Londonderry over the Easter weekend. The Northern Ireland Cycling Federation promotions group event has attracted a strong entry from local and visiting teams.
The home based contenders include Mark Downey (Banbridge) who won a junior European silver medal in the track points race last summer. The Belgian Project development team includes Ryan Reilly last years Ulster junior road race champion. The Caldwell Cycles team from Omagh is a mix of experience and youth with Connor Murphy a regular race winner for years, Paul Mulligan the veterans Ulster Road Champion and young up and coming talents like Darnell Moore and Craig McAuley.… Read more
Exciting Racing at PJ Logan
The Coalisland based cycling club, Island Wheelers, were the second Tyrone club to promote a busy weekend programme of races for lots of categories. This morning there was a full programme of races for the U12’s, U14’s and U16’s while the afternoon saw races for A1-3, A4 and women.
In the Under 12 race Odhran Doogan of Errigal took first ahead of Island Wheelers duo Scott Roberts and Darren Rafferty. Shea O’Kane (Phoenix CC) was first unplaced U11 while Sarah Elder (Carn Wheelers) was first girl.… Read more
Feast of Racing at Ciclisport
East Tyrone had a busy day today with no less than six races to promote. However the club members rallied and from early morning they were arriving with scones and pancakes to feed those who travelled from the four corners of Ireland for the morning youth races.
With the Under 16 event being one of the selection events for the European Youth Olympics there was a big turnout of over forty riders. The under 16’s did three laps of the 9.8 mile circuit and racing was aggressive from the off.… Read more
Pre-Entry for Ciclisport Only
Due to an overwhelming demand for places in the Ciclisport GP A*/A1/A2 Race the club has decided that only those pre-entered via Entry Central will be eligible ro ride. Sign-on on the day is not possible as the club cannot guarantee places to those who turn up. With races being cancelled in the south, riders are looking north to get their weekend's racing. Events this Weekend
A busy weekend of events is on offer this coming weekend. There are two road races both of which have youth events. These are the Ciclisport GP on Saturday and the PJ Logan on Sunday. For those who prefer a more leisurely time there are three leisure events on the calendar. These are the Loop of the Lake promoted by Cavan Club, Sheelin Flyers, the 100 in 10 or 8 promoted by Tyrone's Square Wheels and finally Armagh club Slieve Gullion Wheelers promote their annual Tour of Carlingford.… Read more
Sun Shines on Carn Classic
Carn Wheelers were the promoters of today's Carn Classic which featured races for A1 -A3, A4 , Women and Masters.The sun came out and bathed the 14 mile circuit is glorious sunshime although there was a shap bite from the chill wind.
First off were the A3's who were given a small handicap over the A1 and A2's which was soon closed down and for a while the bunch stayed together.
However there was enough aggressive riding in the bunch to ensure that this did not stay together for long.… Read more
1,2,3 for Team ASEA in Caldwell
A full field of riders took to the roads around Ballymena and Coleraine today when Ballymena CRC promoted the Wallace Caldwell road race. This was also the first of the National League events to be held in Ulster so there were vital points at stake.
The eighty strong field stayed fairly well together until Portglenone but then the attacks began with Team ASEA showing aggressive riding. By Ringsend a group of about a dozen had broken away and by the climb at Cam had opened the gap to almost a minute.… Read more
Great Racing at Burt on St Patrick’s Day
The main road from Burt to Letterkenny was jammed pack with cars today as riders arrived in droves to sign up for the annual Sy Patrick's Day Potato Race organised by North Pole CC.
Whether it was the draw of the free bag of potaoes or the fact that the sun came out but riders travelled from all over Ulster and further afield to take part.
First race of the day was the massed start A1-A3 race which would see the riders cover fifty five miles and do the hilly loop two times.… Read more
